Please kind Duet people, repair Duet 3 board

Both fuses okay

I can probably fix it, but I won't have time for at least a week. It probably needs a new AOZ1284 chip, which I don't have.

The Pi does not power the board. If I change the link from 5v>SBC to SBC>5v and power the pi, it doesn't power the board. I can't find the DUET 3 specific instructions for this in the documentation so maybe I am doing it wrong.
Sorry, I should have included a link to the docs.
https://duet3d.dozuki.com/Wiki/Duet_3_Mainboard_6HC_Hardware_Overview#Section_5VWhen I connect the 24v Vin, all LEDs flash rapidly, whether the USB power is connected or not.
Surely the Board is not going to be able to supply enough current to the steppers if I just power it with the 5v. Doesn't it need the Vin supply too?Yes, you'd need Vin as well, but from the first post saying you didn't have 5v and 3v3 I assumed Vin was ok, and supplying external 5v might be an alternative to repairing it if the issue was limited to 5v.
I don't think removing the int_5v_en jumper will make much difference and if our resident superhero can fix it then you're home
freerelatively inexpensively. -
@bearer thanks. Please can i have an address to send it to? Time is not too much of an issue as i have put a trusty skr board into my mpcnc as a temporary replacement.

@dc42 sorry i replied to the wrong person. Please can you let me know where to send it?Thanks so much.

@dc42 If its the AOZ1284 would it be possible to bypass it with an off the shelf buck converter? It looks too small and fiddly for me to replace. What I would really like to do is return it to E3D from whom I purchased it for repair. But they just refer me to this forum. I don't really understand how they organise support. Is this forum monitored by the manufacturer? Is anyone able to give me a returns address. Sorry to sound confused, but the reason I purchased this was to avoid getting a cheap Chinese board which I could just throw away if it did not work too well. Just thinking of the planet I guess and wanting to support UK industry. Please be kind to a senior citizen who was raised in an age when stuff was repaired.

dc42 is the manufacturer
(edit: seems the forum has lost the signature usually added to his posts, but he'll probaby try to source the needed chip when he has time and get back to you)If its the AOZ1284 would it be possible to bypass it with an off the shelf buck converter?
thats essentially what I had you try with USB, but seems the damaged chip affects Vin.

@chrishornby, I've replied by chat message.

This forum and the duet3d.com domain that contains it are owned by the manufacturer. Look for users with Administrator or Moderators near their names.
