Paneldue 7i not working (USB or 4 pin)
-
Hi,
I ordered a Duet 2 wifi and Paneldue 7i from E3D, got the main board up and running and works perfectly well.
However, I can not get any sign of life from the Paneldue at all, I initially tried the USB connector (with nothing else plugged in) to update the firmware, but the computer did not recognise anything was plugged in. Secondly, I tried connecting through the supplied 4 pin connector, and again, no sign of life.I do get 5V at the 4 pin connector.
All appropriate precautions were taken before plugging in the board.I tried claiming a refund through E3D, but I need an admin from this forum to confirm it is a warranty issue me I should go that route. I can do any trouble shooting with a multimeter if needed.
Thanks in advance!

see if you can update the firmware according to https://duet3d.dozuki.com/Wiki/PanelDue_Firmware_update
(try another usb cable and/or usb port if you have trouble getting the serial port to show up on the computer)

I've tried all these, thanks for your suggestions though!

Does the backlight illuminate when connecting via USB?

@Phaedrux There is no backlight at all via USB nor 4pin.

Sounds like the backlight driver has failed. I approve this for warranty replacement. Please contact E3D and follow their warranty process, referring to this thread for approval. Apologies for the inconvenience.
Edit: Actually, rereading this, it sounds even more fundamental than the backlight driver failing, perhaps the voltage regulator. Still a warranty replacement!

@droftarts Thank you.

@droftarts It has now been 9 days since I emailed E3D the details they require for the warranty claim. And no response, first point of contact took less than half a day for a response.. I'm not sure what to do at this point..

@Sten Perhaps send a follow up email to inquire.
