New Duet WiiFi board
-
I purchased a Workbee CNC from Ooznest in the UK. The board kept crashing and they did nothing. I order a new board from Filaster and have it installed on my computer. It seems to missing a bunch of files to get it to run. I can't get the machine to even move. Does anyone have a teamviewer that may be able to help me out? As of now I have had the machine almost 2 years and have been unable to make a part. Thanks for looking and I hope someone will be able to help me. Don

If you put the same firmware version on the new board you should be able to just move the sd card over.
https://remotedesktop.google.com/support is a good option for teamviwer which can get a bit muddled with respect to licencing and versioning.

Thanks for the response. Ooznest has a block on the sd card so I can't move any files. They deleted everything when they refunded the price of the board to me. So basically I am starting from scratch with the new Duet board from Filaster. They do not give support for the board as they promised. Now I am stuck with a board That I can't get going.

configs for ooznest machines can be found in the firmware zip file here https://learn.ooznest.co.uk/Wiki/WorkBee_Firmware_Releases

@onescentpro The files you need are on this page: https://learn.ooznest.co.uk/Wiki/WorkBee_Firmware_Releases
Download the latest (v1.0.7) and unzip it. If you're starting with a blank SD card, you'll need to create the structure on the SD card, with two folders: 'sys' and 'www'. In the 'sys' folder, put the files from the 'System-Settings' folder that most closely matches your machine, along with 'Duet2CombinedFirmware.bin' and 'DuetWiFiServer.bin'.
Then unzip the 'WorkBeeControl-Duet2.zip'. Copy the contents of this folder to the 'www' folder on the SD card.
You should have an SD card whose contents looks something similar to that shown here: https://duet3d.dozuki.com/Wiki/SD_Card#Section_Creating_the_file_structure
You can create the 'gcodes' and 'macros' folders too.
Then, you should be set to follow the Workbee instructions here: https://learn.ooznest.co.uk/c/Assembling_Your_WorkBee_-_V2.0
Let us know how you get on. Please post if you run in to problems, before you get too frustrated!

Thanks for the info. I have tried everything you sent me and i still can't get the Workbee to run. It seems I have all the files in the right place but can't seem to get it to boot up. I keep getting this message "Your Duet rejected the HTTP request: page not found
Check that the SD card is mounted and has the correct files in its /www folder". Don't know where I went wrong. Would there be a possibility that you could send me a link with the files on it so I can copy them to my SD card? Thanks and look forward to hearing from you. -

This is actually good, because it means you are communicating with the Duet, and it's just a problem with the SD card or its contents. Can you put the SD card in your PC, show the contents (including folder contents, especially www folder), and do a screen grab? It should look something like:
If the contents is correct, then either the SD card is not being read, or there's a problem with the Duet. See this page to make sure the SD card is properly specified and formatted for the Duet, and for SD Card troubleshooting advice: https://duet3d.dozuki.com/Wiki/SD_Card

Woah, this is simply not true.
Before you purchased, you asked if we would support the Workbee. I said we could not, because we don't have a Workbee, and have no experience with it, but that we could provide general support for the Duet 2 (getting connected, etc).
You then emailed that you "got everything downloaded and got the control panel activate but I can’t get the router to move.".
We don't have a Workbee, so we aren't in a position to figure out what could be preventing you from moving it - we have no experience with how a Workbee is wired.
A "block on the SD card" doesn't make any sense, if the Duet can read it, your computer can read it. Plus, they even post it online, a s linked above.

Just for your info, the Workbee is like any other CNC machine. The only difference is the size of the bed. Everything else runs exactly the same on any CNC. So your Whoa comment doesn't hold water. I asked for general support to get it running properly and you said you won't support it because you don't have a Workbee and you refused. So I am still in the same situation but fortunately there is some people willing to help.

Exactly so.
To the best of my knowledge, the Workbee as supplied by Ooznest runs standard RepRapFirmware on the Duet (I don't know the exact version), but Ooznest provides a customized version of DuetWebControl that is more suited to CNC machines than the standard one. They have published their modified version of DuetWebControl, as required by the open source license.
You are welcome to ask for general support on this forum, and I see that @droftarts (one of our support engineers) posted a response to the most recent issue you reported.

Interesting, so all CNCs have the same size pulleys? The same stepper motors? The same endstop wiring and setup? The same means of commanding the spindle? The same maximum accelerations?

That's all just adjustments. If you needed the size of my Workbee, I can send that to you. As I understand this is all mechanical stuff. The Duet is the driver which tells the mechanical stuff what to do.

@droftarts Thanks for the help. I have the Dashboard up and running. I have a few problems though. First my "Y" is homed with the limit switch triggered but the Duet says it's not homed. My "Z" axis seems to be the only one that works correctly. But when I set home all it says my "Y" axis isn't homed even though the limit switch is triggered. I get this message when I try to home all:
M120
G91
G1 X-50 F360000
G90
M121
G0/G1 insufficient axes homed. My "X" limit switch is triggered. When I try to advance it X-50 it doesn't move. I get this message:
motor phase A may be disconnected reported by driver(s) 0
Warning: motor phase B may be disconnected reported by driver(s) 0I am not sure where to go next as I have checked all the connections and they seem to be working fine.

@droftarts I need to thank you again for all your help. I figured everything out now and the machine appears to be working fine. Everything homes as it should so you can disregard my previous reply. Once again thanks so much as I couldn't have set it up without your help.
