Slice Thermistor or PT1000 and Duet 3
-
Hello,
I've seen some info here and there on the slice engineering thermistor not being compatible with the Duet 3. Is this also the case for the v1.0 Duet 3? Will it not work at all, or will it have poor resolution? Are PT1000 RTDs compatible and do they have good resolution with the Duet 3? Checked the wiki but it doesn't mention if the resolution when used with the Duet 3 is good.
Thank you

yes and accoring to the configurator they have the same resistance as the maestro. so duet 3 is the same as maestro.
i use pt1000 on my maestro, and they work quite well.

@mwolter, I have updated that wiki page to include Duet 3.

@dc42 Thank you for updating the wiki with the PT1000 info.
Am I correct in assuming the Duet 3 v1.0 still doesn’t work well with the Slice Engineering thermistor?

That combination should be usable, however you will get poor resolution and accuracy at the low and high ends of the temperature range. Also at low temperatures, the Duet may not be able to tell that the thermistor is connected. These limitations are not unique to Duet, they apply to other controller boards (i.e. all of them) that read thermistors using the 10 or 12 bit ADCs in the main microcontroller.
