Status of M37 Simulation RRF3/DSF?
-
@dc42 , @chrishamm any idea when simulation will be supported? Right now it throws "Warning: M37 is not supported yet"
-
@gtj0 That may already be fixed. At least it works for me but I'm on a beta firmware, specifically:
RepRapFirmware for Duet 3 MB6HC v0.6 or 1.0 3.0beta12+1 (2019-11-08b2)
and Duet Web Control 2.0.4
The other thing I'm doing is using stand alone mode - i.e. I'm not using the RPi. So if you are on the same firmware and DWC as me, that might be a clue for DC and Christian.
-
Yeah, I always compile the latest RRF and DSF and that warning actually comes from the DSF. I'm just not sure if something needs to be implemented on the RRF side or the DSF side. Maybe they're still deciding on where the simulation should be run, on RRF as today and the results are just passed back to DSF or in the DSF itself.

It's waiting on work in DSF.

Thanks David. Do you know if it's just enabling the command or is it more complex than that?
-
Looping back around to this, looks like it's not implemented on RRF 3.0, DSF 1.2.4.0, DWC 2.07
Is it on any of the newer unstable packages?
-
@blt3dp Nope.
-
Curious if anyone’s tested this on the new releases of RRF 3.0.1-RC6, DWC 2.1.1, and DSF 1.3.1
-
@blt3dp I have tested it and it's working, although I believe the performance could be further increased. Besides DSF does not write the print/simulation times to the G-code files yet.
