I showed few weeks ago my printer to my fablab and i forget to bring a router with me. I used the access point from my smartphone to connect the printer and it works great. Maybe you can use this tablet functionality.

This is what I was hoping I could do, Bypass using the router at work (Its for a huge network in the building). I just wasn't sure if the DuetWiFi access point was capable of running the printer.

I did order a Panel Due with a 7" screen yesterday. They are back ordered right now but when it arrives I won't have to worry with transporting my printer to different locations.

Check the M350 line, the configurator has an error. It thinks there's only the X axis.

It outputs:
M350 X16 X16 X16 X16 I1 ; Configure microstepping with interpolation

Corrected version:
M350 X16 Y16 Z16 E16 I1 ; Configure microstepping with interpolation

Actually, unless you change it in the configurator, by default it outputs I0 at the end (without interpolation) so it needs to be changed to I1 as well.

Can I suggest specifically that the WiFi module communicate with the MCU in such a way that WiFi setup can be done in G-code (in addition to the current method)? I had a few hours of frustration trying to get the initial WiFi set up, and from the fora I know I'm not the only one. To be able to plug the SD card into my computer and use the (existing!) G-codes to set up the network would have simplified the setup process dramatically.

This is on the firmware wish list, but following a poll of users has a lower priority than some other features. See https://www.duet3d.com/forum/thread.php?pid=866#p866 and the earlier posts in that thread. What I actually plan to do is support a list of SSIDs and corresponding passwords in a file in the SD card, and some changes to ensure that this file cannot be read over the network for security reasons.

Found it, done it and updated the firmware.

Yes using the Sam BA v2.16 method works and the board is now behaving normally.

I didn't see a new thread, so I'll reply here.

Version 1.15b and earlier firmware were slow to respond if the temperature dropped more than 1C. Firmware 1.15c should respond much faster.

If the PID parameters generated by auto tuning don't work for you, define your own PID parameters using a M301 command in config.g. Put it after the M307 command so that it overrides the ones generated by M307.

I did all setup and actual use from
my MacbookPro. No problems at all. Your initial setup may vary a bit from the documentation (port naming, etc), but Windows is not necessary.

I have just released version 1.15b, which fixes a problem ("temperature creep)" when legacy PID parameters were used. If you are currently using 1.15, please upgrade.

The linux/OS X version also uses gzip (installed on both OSes by default) and mkspiffs which I describe where to get and install in /etc.

For some reason I didn't have the iap4e.bin file in /sys

So the automatic firmware update failed with the message -

Can't rename file or directory /sys/DuetWiFiFirmware-1.14.bin to /sys/DuetWiFiFirmware.bin

So I manually copied the new firmware to the /sys and added the missing iap4e.bin

Then booted and ran the command M997 S0

And it all updated perfectly !

The axis wiggle has gone, I'm testing the rest now.

Sorry for my late reply, this weird movement happen after a manual move, them a soft reset when changing the config file. I will try with a hard reset to see if it happen. Even with 1.13b firmware

It might be different on OS X/Linux. I find it easier to run pronterface on linux since it requires the least dependencies vs repetier host (python utilities vs mono and monodevelop), and its a really easy install on OS X (all the python utils are preinstalled so its just execute the .app package). Not sure how it is on windows since I only use it for gaming.
