@chimaeragh if you're getting a replacement board I would look at one of the duet 3 products as the duet 2 is end of life

@Simon-1 I wired a slider switch into the 5v power line mounted to the side of the PD cases. Super easy if your using serial. Might be harder with the ribbon cable. However, I almost never use the switch the screen saver seems good enough.

@droftarts I get 100K if I measure between nozzle and another 1lc copper plated hole (not the one where wire grounding is connected). If I measure between nozzle and negative slot on PSU, I am getting 2.2 k.

@FrankHowardNUSA if you run stepper motors at their full rated current they get very hot. It's normal to run them at 60 to 80% of that current. So 1A should be enough anyway.

Sadly it's not possible to get anywhere close to the maximum figures headlined by Trinamic, especially when space is constrained. The headline figures are for intermittent operation with a very large PCB area for heatsinking. However, we should be able to increase the maximum current of the Roto Tool board somewhat.

@SamKudarauskas the second one uses the HX711 chip, which is too slow to be used for bed probing. The first one is a Force Sensitive Resistor (FSR) and we mention those in our documentation about connecting Z probes. @HeidiH assuming you are running without attached single board computer then one possible issue with removing power is that if the board is writing to the SD card at the time then the SD card may be corrupted. SD card writes can occur when uploading a file or doing a other DWC action that changes files, within 15 seconds following the last log message written if you have enabled logging, when a simulation completes, and any time you execute a command that writes to file e.g. an echo command with output redirection.

So as long as you don't do anything in daemon.g that writes to file or creates log message when the machine is idle, removing power is fine. It's what I do.

To avoid clogging the hot end you may need to wait until the hot end has cooled sufficiently before removing power to the hot end cooling fan.

@jay_s_uk thanks that makes sense. Will try that out.

@Ravihotwok if you are competent at changing and building firmware then you could modify the Duet 2 config file to enable RS485 support and disable some other optional feature to make room for it in flash memory. However, Duet 2 has only one UART port, so you wouldn't be able to run both the pendant and RS422.

@droftarts, yes, exactly. I couldn't even get the strands in a ferrule that would fit.

Originally, I tried just reducing the conductor count but that caused the wires to get hot to the touch and the toolboard's mcu was over 100deg C.

So I ended up making a step-down connector that reduces the diameter. basically additional high temp heater cord spliced in and fit in the ferrule.

It's working better now. The MCU is only 64 deg and nothing is hot to the touch.

@dc42 Thank you for your help, changing to Exint 3 did the trick, and now accelerometer is working fine. I wil keep in mind the PB3 conflict.

@drivetrainsystems C97 is connected to the termination resistors that you have removed, so it doesn't matter that you have removed it.

@dc42 according to documentation in RRF 2.x P define a type and sometimes a pin too. P4 define type and pin is defined by C parameter. 9 ms is the time between my probe output (pushpull type) to reaction of the printer visible at accelerometer output so maybe it is the dynamics of my printer mechanics that determinied this time. If you consider that time is very long I am apted to the last so I try to live with it for awhile. Anyway thanks for all responses

@HaydenBuckeye If you have a multimeter you can check if the wire is broken or not. depending on the thermistor some of the wires can be surprisingly fragile

If you connected 220V AC to the Duet directly, then very likely yes. The Duet and Duex voltage input (VIN) should be 12V to 24V.

The heater outputs on the Duex are meant for extruder heaters running on 12V to 24V (VIN), and are rated at 6A (though whole board is fused at 7.5A), which would not be enough to run a heated bed directly. As the output on these is VIN (ie 12V-24V) you can connect the heater outputs to the Fotek KSR-25 DA SSR, and control the beds through that. So yes, acting as a relay.

The "L2in" node is only available on the top side of the PCB. I lifted the plastic bar off the "OUT_0 Select V" connector to get access to VB_FUSED and wired up the diode. Then replaced the plastic bar.
