Thanks for the quick response. I have found my problem, my Z axis threaded rods have some bad threads. I will replace them and move on!

Bad Benchy Bottom
Thanks for all the help! I have the Duet 2 wifi up and printing! But I have a problem that I can't figure out after searching. The lower half of a Benchy print is bad, the upper half is good considering my machine. I know I have to work on the first layer but this goes half way up the print. I want to print parts for an XY machine so I need to nail this problem down. See the attached picture. I have a couple of ideas but just wanted to run this by the group.

RE: Z probe after updating firmware
Ok, I have my z probe set up and calibrated but for some reason the Z probe reports below 0 when doing a home and bed comp. See attached config files and bed homez.g heightmap.csv config-override.g config.g bed.g map. Again, I have something simple in the configs that is causing this.

Blobs Happen
I am having troubles with blobbing. After printing for an hour or so I get a large blob and if I am not right there to clean it then the xy axis will skip. Any ideas?

Problem with print
I am having a problem , after printing for 40 minutes it appears the y axis is skipping or something. I can print multiple towers much higher than this without a problem. Any ideas? (of course you guys have ideas! That is why I moved to the DuetWifi from Replicape) -
Thread reversal
I have a logics problem with reversal of xy (long suspected but has not effected prints until now) I just printed a threaded piece, thread along Y axis and the threads are reversed. How do I fix this?

RE: Choices!
Well as I am a sailing skipper and have a tight schedule from the middle of June till March it will be a slow process but I will try to update my progress. Going with the XY platform.

RE: Choices!
The framing system will be baked carbon fiber to which the rails will be attached. I have lots of CF and epoxy and if I make this a cube style I have some ideas to make the look much "sexier"! Whatever the hell that means!

RE: Choices!
My next project will be to build an interim machine to increase accuracy and build volume. My initial budget is 1000€ just to get it printing. I am looking at a 500cm heated enclosed build space, 2 extruders and a .2mm extrusion. I want rails and Flex3Drive. I am not sure what the initial hotend will be but that is easily upgraded. This will be a proof of concept system.

Choices!
After finally getting my I3 working well I am ready to start a new project. I want to build a larger printer with 2-3 extuders. Should I go with an X-Y or Kossel. I understand the XY system more, the Delta seems to be smoke and mirrors and magic!
I want to be able to print very accurate prints.

RE: Bed and extruder home height & PrintBite bed
Changed the G31 Z setting and it works! Just like the documents said.
Now if I can separate the PrintBite from the broken glass I'll be a happy camper. -
Bed and extruder home height & PrintBite bed
My extruder is going too close to the bed when homing so the first layer is squeezed. How do I change the config files to raise the extruder when homing.
Also, I broke the glass sheet under my printbite sheet. Does anyone know how to remove the printbite from the glass so I can apply it to another glass sheet?
Thaanks for the graet community support!

RE: IR Probe setup problems
Well, I have to disagree. I think the docs are fine it is just me having trouble outing it all into practice.
-
RE: IR Probe setup problems
Fixed! Once again I muddled through the documentation 5 times to get it right!

RE: IR Probe setup problems
The Z-probe reading is now correct. Now my problem is the head wants to crash into the bed (appx 3mm too far) when I home Z. The bed compensation seems to work.

IR Probe setup problems
IR probe giving 1000 in the Z Probe reading in the web interface no matter what surface I use. I am not getting the 450-550 readings in the instructions.
