I suggest you look at https://duet3d.dozuki.com/Wiki/ConfiguringRepRapFirmwareDeltaPrinter#Section_Adding_additional_towers_to_carry_flying_extruders. Pure Z movement to match the effector height isn't supported, but you can approximate it if you want to by specifying a very long "rod length" for the 4th tower.

I took a quick look at the ulticontroller schematic on ulitmakers github and it looks like the display connected via i2c bus not on the spi bus as the duet Maestro is expecting. To my knowledge there is no support for i2c displays in the reprap firmware.

I've extracted a bed heater from an old printer to test your board with. I wasn't able to reproduce the problem using just stepper motors and a 5 ohm dummy load. I hope to test this and post the board back to you on Monday.
