@oc_geek Perfect, this is exactly what I was looking for. That way I can have my sensor by my filament input/guide rather than on the print head. Thanks so much!

Filament Sensor with toolboard
Quick question that I couldn't find the answer to in the wiki. I'm running a 3 Mini 5+ (currently 3.3) and a toolboard 1LC. My question is can I run a standard on/off switch type filament sensor plugged directly into the Mini 5+? Or does the sensor HAVE to run up to the toolboard for it to work. In the documentation for the laser sensor it indicates it needs to be connected to the same device driving the extruder motor? Is that true for all sensors or just the laser one? Thanks!

RE: Conditional Chassis Fan
@t3p3tony Yeah, I was hoping to avoid that in case I forget or slice with an 'alternate' slicer, etc.

RE: Fan control and Panel Due 7i stopped working
@phaedrux Ok, I downgraded my Duet to 3.3 and the PanelDue to 3.2.11. Tried a new 4-pin cable on io_0 and also tried a ribbon cable. Panel lights up and just says connecting still.

Conditional Chassis Fan
Hey, this is probably a simple question but I was having a hard time finding an answer. I have a chassis fan that cools my Duet 3 mini 5+ (firmware 3.4 beta 3). I have it set to turn on when the machine is powered on, but I was wondering if there is a way to have the fan only engage once a print starts? Thanks in advance.

RE: Fan control and Panel Due 7i stopped working
@phaedrux Yes. I even tried changing baud rates to different options in config.g and the panel. No dice.

RE: Fan control and Panel Due 7i stopped working
@phaedrux Hey. I finally got time to get my replacement board installed and it is working well. However, the PanelDue 7i still won't talk to the board via ribbon cable, I ran a M111 S1 P3 (via USB) and no communication is present. Not sure what my next step is?
I did update the screen to 3.4.0-pre1 and the board to 3.4.0-beta3.

Updating to 3.4 beta firmware
I'm trying to update my Mini 5+ from 3.3 to 3.4.0 beta 3. I was unable to find a zip file (like with the upgrade to 3.3) so I downloaded the file Duet3Firmware_Mini5plus.uf2 and uploaded it to the system folder. I was asked if I wanted to update the firmware, I said yes, and then received: "Error: M997: In-application programming binary "0:/firmware/Duet3_SDiap32_Mini5plus.bin" not found"
I'm not sure where to find this file or how to go about updating my board to this newest version. Any help would be appreciated.

RE: Fan control and Panel Due 7i stopped working
@phaedrux It's filastruder. Perhaps I can work out a way they can ship me one on my credit card while I ship the other one back. Would hate to be without the board for multiple weeks.

RE: Fan control and Panel Due 7i stopped working
@phaedrux Email sent. Never done warranty with Duet before (first time venturing into the Duet ecosystem). I assume I'll have to ship this one back and then wait for a replacement?

RE: Fan control and Panel Due 7i stopped working
@phaedrux Just to be clear is this warranty for the Panel Due, Duet mini, or both? I had to buy them from different suppliers.

RE: Fan control and Panel Due 7i stopped working
@dc42 Ok. Seems like no communication. All I received was:

RE: Fan control and Panel Due 7i stopped working
@dc42 I was aware of the io0 requirement, and so have nothing using that port.
Yes, the baud rate matches on both the duet and the panel due.
I had them both working great and then I went to use the panel due and noticed it is stuck on connecting.

RE: Fan control and Panel Due 7i stopped working
@dc42 Here is the relevant part of my config.g regarding the fan. Used to say "out6".
M950 F2 C"out5" Q500 ; create fan 2 on pin out5 and set its frequency
M106 P2 C"Layer" S0 H-1 ; set fan 2 name and value. Thermostatic control is turned offI suppose it is possible the fan output shorted, although I've been very careful to ensure that doesn't happen. I was adjusting the wiring and getting it all zip tied down, guess that must be the culprit. Am I good to keep using out5 or are repair required?
As for the Panel Due, I have M575 P1 S1 B57600 ; enable support for PanelDue
I've tried both the 4pin and ribbon cables. I did have my y-endstop in io1, but moved it to io2 and still nothing on the ribbon cable.
Any chance the short on out6 and the panel due stopping working are related?

Fan control and Panel Due 7i stopped working
Hey Guys,
I'm in the process of finishing my 3D printer (Core X/Y) build and my Duet 3 mini 5+ Wifi has begun exhibiting some weird behaviour. Two things I've noticed:-
The layer fan is always on. I turned the machine on this evening and the fan is no longer controllable from "out6". It just stays on full. I moved the fan to "out5" and it is again controllable. I've checked my config multiple times and cannot find a reason for this behaviour.

My Panel Due 7i refuses to connect. This happened about 30-40 minutes after my fan began being weird. It was working fine, and then all of a sudden it can't talk to the board. I've erased the Panel Due, reflashed it with the current FW, but still nothing. I also tried sending a M111 S1 P3 to the Duet via YAT (connected via USB) and saw no communication or gcodes from the Panel Due.
Any ideas? Any things to test or check? Other than these two behaviors the board seems to be functioning fine.
Duet is 3.3RC and Panel Due is 3.2.11
Thanks!
