my duet has decided that it doesnt want a update i think,
I cannot connect for long enough to upload the new firmware.
Is there a reason to think new firmware will fix this problem ? Was there a bug with the wifi connection thats fixed in the new firmware?
I heard the update you firmware answer before and i did update it back then but it didnt make any difference.
to be honest i'm a bit done with the duet, the board is working great only the wifi is really bad, (big problem for hardware that can only be controlled via wifi) could i connect a different wifi board or maybe an ethernet board ?
Do new Duet wifis have a different wifi chip ? Or is it just as good/bad ?
Hi,
Im using the duet WIFI for around 3/4 years now and i still have frequent connection problems.
If i start the duet i can connect fine (most of the time) but after like 5 minutes or so it will disconnect me, and this keeps on going. .
Sometime i need to restart the duet because i cant connect anymore.
I spend a lot of time to fix this and finally give up, this was +/-2 year ago .
But i still hope someone can give me solution for this, because its still very anoying.
Im running this firmware:
Firmware Name: RepRapFirmware for Duet WiFi
Firmware Electronics: Duet WiFi 1.0 or 1.01 + DueX2
Firmware Version: 1.21RC1 (2018-01-25)
WiFi Server Version: 1.21RC1
Web Interface Version: 1.20
ik wil try the 1.21RC1 firware when its ready,
but i dont think i have a problem with the wifi connection , i tryed the M111 command but it didnt show any problems with the wifi connection , my duet shows up connected on my router and i can also ping it. it looks like the http server is closing the connection..
but DC42 to whole point of having the duet wifi for me is that i can control it from a distance and the active development of the firmware to get even better printing results.
i would like to have some help to get things going again with the new firmware.
Dc42 what do you mean worked best for them? I liked the new version, i hope my problem wil be fixed.
I do not think that these AJAX errors are caused by your wifi connection but by the firmware (Firmware 1.9 and up)
I had them all the time after upgrading, im back to the old firmware and dont have them anymore
see also my tread :
https://www.duet3d.com/forum/thread.php?id=3831
i hope this will be fixed
its running for 5 hours now and still no AJAX errors.
So im happy i can print again, but if its not fixed , im stuck with old firmware….
i installed the old firmware, and untill now i didnt see any Ajax erros .
it looks like there is a bug in the 1.19 and later firmware. or my board is broken.
would be nice if this is fixed so i can also enjoy the new features.
i will upload the old firmware today and hope it will work.
i download this version : https://github.com/dc42/RepRapFirmware/releases/
thats 1.20
Where can i get the 1.20+1 ?
I prefer to go for the latest version that didnt have the disconnect problems .
i see on this board users who have this 1.20+1 version and the are also reporting disconnects.
I dont have a panel due connected so my only option to print is with the webinterface.
is there a special procedure to go back to the old firmware ?
i think the last working version (for me) was :
oke with AJAX retries set to 50 i was connected for 5 minutes. but then i get the AJAx error
and i could not reconnect again it looks like web server is just down . My browser gives me this error : ERR_CONNECTION_RESET
When i send ping to the Duet it does reply so it does have a wifi connection.
i missed the number of AJAX retries setting, it was set to 1, changed to 5 and it is a bit better,
But i still get disconnects.
Maybe i set it to a really high number.
But it doesnt really fix the problem i think it just makes it workable
i see my wifi strength is not great -69dBm, but i dont think this has anything to do with it.
For example if i upload file it just works fine even with really big ones,
sorry it did not fixed the problem, i still get the AJAX errors.
Im running :
Duet wifi 1.) + Duex2
firmware version 1.20
wifi server version 1.20
web interface version 1.19.3
Is it possible to go back to the old firmware ? i didnt have this problem before.
This is my M122 reply.

Was there a bug in 1.19 that is fixed in 1.20 ?
i read the thread about 1.20 some are also reporting connection problems,
Maybe i try that one today.
Hi,
im running duet wifi with duex2 for almost a year now without problems.
Recently i upgraded the firmware to version 1.29 and now i have a lot of connection problems.:
1. i cannot connect add all, after restarting the duet or randomly after some time i can connect.
2. it disconnects me (a lot) . " An AJAX Error has been reported etc.. Error reason : Timeout"
I dont think this is a wifi problem because it wasnt a problem with the old firmware.
im running Wifi Server version 1.19.2 and web interface version 1.19.3
Hi im thinking to build a CNC CO2 laser, and because i already have a duet it would be nice if i can use a duet for this machine to.
Laser cutting should not be a problem, but how to engraving in raster mode with the duet.
merlin uses G7 to execute a raster line ( base64 encoded line ) and i think there is a inkscape plugin to generate the g-code for merlin.
