Wow - over 24Kg of parts and tools sent, and I now have one empty shelf.
The only items I discovered that remain are:
1 x DC42 mini IR sensor v1.0 @ £10
1 x DC42 mini IR sensor v1.1 @ £10 (or was it called v2.0 ?)
First one to go gets a fully wired/crimped cable . P&P included.
Both should give 3 flashes on power up or full refund given.

T3P3 Mini Kossell carbon fibre rods with TRAXXAS rod ends assembled by me, so not as perfect as Roland's.
@ £10 plus £2.90 p&p.

E3D V6 boot with cartridge thermistor - never used.
@ £4 inc p&p.

Just been drooling over the spec of the T3P3 Kossell XL - well an old man can still dream!

My condition is cluster headaches too.
Had them for over 12 months now..
My neurologist, the top man in London in this field, also prescribed Oxygen and Sumatriptan.
Oxygen @ 100% for 20 minutes at 15 litres/min - seems to work.
No alcohol and no caffeine as these can also be triggers
Now i am on Zolmitriptan which is Sumatriptan in nasal spray form - when Oxygen does not work
or out of town. Much easier and a much cheaper than the injections.
First i had 4 weeks heavy does of steroids
That was only a temporary fix.
No I am permanently on Verapamil 40mpg x 3 times per day.
I have been cluster headache free for over 3 weeks.
If it returns they will increase the Verapamil dose

Oxygen is for another condition, and the Oxygen risk assessment would not allow 3D printing in same space - very dangerous.
PLA was fine I agree.

I built my own mid size of DC42's large Kossel Delta with many metal parts and many other parts from T3P3
I now have to give up it up as 3D printing is not good for Ashtma sufferers and my Oxygen tanks!
So my 24V, 0.9 deg, DuetWifi Kossel Delta Midi is for sale at a Bargain price or I will sell it as parts.

I believe I'm already following all the guidelines to setting this value.
But if, after all the calibrating and levelling, I go back and lower the nozzle until it grips the paper it then shows Z = -1.5/1.6mm instead of 0.1mm?

For any print, extrusion starts with nozzle raised 1.45mm above glass bed?
This is not caused by the print g code. I have to correct this every time with baby stepping.

I have a workaround.
I took 0.8mm off the unthreaded end of the heat break.
now the IR sensor fires at z=0.35mm, so before the nozzle hits the bed glass

Duet Wifi v1.0 with 1.81 firmware; T3P3 hot end printed part with brass inserts , version for All Metal effector.
dc42 IR Sensor , new version with surface IR emitters and detector. 24V psu
E3D V6 hot end with new heater block for cartridge thermister and silicone sock.
T3P3 glass bed with black paper.

Sensor flashes 4 times on power up , and reads 537 when white paper triggers red light.
Using feeler gauges the height between bottom edge of IR sensor board and the hot end nozzle tip is about 2.4mm
The problem is that with no white and in a darkened room, after calibrating G92 Z0 to cartridge paper thickness =-
the Z probe reading stays at 465 and never triggers the sensor fully so nozzle end hits glass bed!
Does this simply mean the trigger height is less then 2.4mm?
With this hardware configuration I cannot see any easy way to reduce the distance between ir sensor and nozzle tip.
Anyone any ideas?

try using dimafix, expensive but does the job.

I notice you have the Extruder current set in the M906 line at E1500 (mA)this seems high to me?

I have tried S3D trials twice, and given up on it
Also Cura and mainly slic3r but have settled on Matter Control (MC) with Matter Slicer. (MS)
MC does support slic3r but MS has native support for Wipe Tower and/or Wipe Shield so i stick with that.
There is a nice recovery option if printing via usb, which i do not use.
Graphical Interface is great once you get used to it's idiosyncrasies.
Nice library feature.
Holds multiple models on screen at once and can switch between them.
Graphical Printing emulator screens - 2D and 3D - can be synchronised with actual printer if via usb.
Also native micro stepping via usb.
Multiple printer support
Multiple Material support.
Only drawbacks i have found are:
No 'Cut' option , so i revert to Slic3r for the few times I need that.
Could not slice some of the two colour vases - stopped with a "too complex" type error.
No 'use firmware retraction' option but has layer change; tool change gcode sections.

Good enhancement/developement cycle for new alpah/beta and stable releases.

Given up on S3D for the second time (got a full refund) as dual extrusion still seems very iffy, even though slicing is extremely fast.
I'm going back to MATTER HACKER which can produce a prime tower and or wipe brim.
This has no parameter to enable firmware retraction so I'm using their g code 'before tool change', 'after tool change', 'before layer change', 'after layer change' feature.
I still have the M116 Pn in my Tpostn.g files and have put G10 in 'before tool change' and G11 'after tool change'
along with an appropriate M207 line in config.g, of course.
Is this the correct approach, as things do not look quite right?
The print head is still dwellling too long before it moves to the primer tower, and leaves its mess on the print.
I tried using Tpren.g as DC42 suggested but that just left the head in the wrong place and the co-ordinates just went awry from then on.
Can anyone help me with the gcodes for the TpreN.g files or in the before/after g code sections ?

solved my S3D issue by deleting the S3D temperature controller for both extruders T0 and T1 and re-entering them.
Now all is well

Furrher to my January 27th post on this topic:
I have tpost1.g as M116 P1 and tpost2.g as M116 P2 and I had the extruders as T0 and T1
However for a dual colour test print on tool change it is not waiting for the new tool to heat up.
I think the issue could be because S3D denotes the hot bed temperature id as T0
so I think I must therefore denote the extruders as T1 and T2.
Very confusing.
Can anyone else who has done two colour printing in S3D shine some light on my dilema?

S3D and firmware retraction.
I thought I read somewhere in this forum that 1.17c now supports the S3D required M codes without conversion to corresponding G codes.
Firmware retraction does indeed work but how do I suppress the "unsupported M102 messages".
Also, as a relative newbie to dual extrusion, how do I eliminate the deadly pause over the print when once colour finishes and before it moves to the prime/wipe tower? I have the Tpostn.g files set with M116 Pn.
