Hello everybody, we write here because we have been working in the Voron project for some time and we need your opinion.
We decided to work with the Duet3D system, even though it is not the main electronics in the Voron Design BOM. We have been working with the Duet3D system for many years and we think that the features of Duet can make it perform well from a practical point of view without necessarily having to use Klipper. Among the various proposals we have seen in the forum, and the various tests we have done, we thought that the best option is a Duet3 Mini5+ with Mini2+ expansion to keep costs down - which are already high given the amount of material needed to assemble a Voron.
To this we connect the 1LC expansion which, thanks to the CAN-FD bus, brings the Afterburner (or Stealthburner) connection to just two cables and has the accelerometer integrated. In addition, we have choose the Rotating Magnet as a filament sensor to be integrated immediately above the extruder unit. We also bundled the kit with a PanelDue i7 screen, in order not to miss anything
After several months of intensive work we have released in these days the configurator to be able to customise and obtain a complete Voron 2.4 kit - down to the last bolt - with first choice materials, many optional and services that can be selected as required: bundle Voron 2.4 r2 by DHM.
We would therefore like to share our project with the community and get feedback from more or less experts on it. If you have suggestions for improvement or options to add that you think are essential, please write to us. We accept honest opinions, even criticism or steps that are not clear: we are here to listen to you!
