I was just listing an another case where DHCP advertised MTU would be reasonable to adhere to.

@bearer I guess the opposite applies too, if DHCP says the MTU is 1486 then it would be nice if the Duets would follow that?

Would it be possible for the Duet2 Ethernet to ask the DHCP server for the network's MTU and then use it?

It would potentially allow for faster file transfers, and in general would be nice for the Duet2 to at least recognize that the network does high MTU e.g. just potentially receive the packets without any side-effects.

I would be pretty surprised if anyone managed to make it fit on 2 layers. Also that would remove the ground plane which would be a bad idea.

Would most likely mean just quite a "few" 0ohm resistors and a larger sized board (which isn't bad in terms of heat dissipation though).

Small question, would it be possible to add Gravatar integration to automatically fetch profile pictures based on e-mail as an option?

May I ask what your plans are?
Just thought for a moment about rolling with my own board, because paying more than a 2 hundred $ just sounded too steep for me so I was looking at if I could save some cost. Adding it all up (including time I'd have to spend to learn how to redesign the board to 3(or even more extreme 2)-layers without errors) I realized it's not worth it.
