Best to replace the part first and see how that goes. If the motor current is already set appropriately for the motor you shouldn't increase it. I mainly asked in case there were places in your macros that you dropped the current for some other reason and maybe it wasn't getting returned to it's normal value.

For the record the board appears to be genuine and I have no doubt that if it came from Oozenest it is genuine. It's hard to tell from the photos what exactly is going on, but we'll get the board back and see for ourselves.
