Panel Due Emergency stop issues
-
So I started a print in the other room, a quick 15minute cube, I check the Wifi server and it says complete in under 5.
Look and see and I have a failure to home on the console, so I home with the due and the Y axis fails to trigger (mechanically) and proceeds to make horrible noises I promptly hit STOP and nothing, it just says "connecting" I had to resort to shutting off the power.
Is this normal? because using the server STOP stops the machine dead in it's tracks.
It's my fault of not physically being there to ensure it's working correctly, but the STOP function doesn't really serve as a safety function (except for maybe shutting down the heaters)

What firmware on the Duet and on the PanelDue? I think the latest paneldue firmware changes the emergency stop to function more inline with the DWC emergency stop.
However, in a situation where there is unwanted mechanical movement, you should have a true emergency stop plunger that kills the power immediately. This is critical for things like pinch points, since you want the motors to stop, and that usually means removing power.
