Looking for angled brackets for a 7" paneldue touch screen for Kossel.
-
Hi there. I've printed DC42's housing for teh 7" Paneldue and i dropped it and it shattered the screw posts.. So now I need to print another, but I don't want it to lay flat on the front of the top 2020. I'd rather it be angled on the top.
The way I have my printer it's on a shelf and when I'm standing next to it it's lower, so if I could angle the screen up a bit and mount it that way then that would be best.
I've seen some on google searches but I cannot find anything on thingiverse… their search protocol is terrible.
Anyone have a thing they can share?

I am not aware of any brackets that are as you describe, presumably you are using this housing:

Do you fancy having a go at designing the brackets yourself? there are quite few tutorials online about using OpenSCAD.

I have a simple bracket for dc42's case: http://www.thingiverse.com/thing:1671965
It's in OpenSCAD, so you can change the angle the bracket is at. -

I would like to learn how to use OPENScad but it seems daunting. I know how to use fusion 360 a little bit, but I'm not sure I could design something like that just yet.

what did you have in mind? (I visualised a couple of brackets with >90 degrees between the sides)

Something that mounts to a 2020 rail, at a 45 deg angle. I'm not sure of the angle StephenRC posted but something alone those lines,
Also the case by DC42 is great but the damn thing is huge. I'd like a slim case maybe just to cover the front/back of the LCD and leave the panel due board exposed to cut down on the thickness? and mount that on a 2020 rail.

have a play with OpenSCAD you will be surprised at how easy it is tom modify the dimensions of David's design.
For the angles you mean something like these?

the design shown in the bottom picture in out old documentation (but of course for 20x20 not 15x15 and for the PanelDue case -
I'll second what Tony suggests about trying OpenScad. I'm a 63 year old with no cad experience of any sort and have managed to get to grips with it. Apart from anything else, once you've mastered a few basics (and there are plenty of on line tutorials and help available), it opens up a whole new world of what you can do with your printer. The time taken to master it will be rewarded by time saved in the future trying to find designs that suits your particular requirements. And of course it's free.
