New Test Forum

Hi Tony,
I just tried it and it asks me to log in to post. I'm presented with two boxes - a user name and a password. I tried both my user name and my email address but in both cases there was no option to change a password. Entering my existing password resulted in an error (as expected).

I used the reset password link on the login page with no problems

Can't see a reset password link on the login page. Do you mean "Forgot Password" ?
-
OK got it sorted. For anyone else who is a thick as me, first press the "Forgot Password" link, then follow then enter email address and press the the Reset Password ink.

Feedback
Tried to post twice fairly quickly but got a message to the effect that as a new user I can't post twice with 120 seconds. Maybe the number of user posts needs to be migrated to prevent this happening for us old timers?
-
Yep I get the same as well
need to get to level 3 or something -
Thanks for the feedback. I will ask Matt to see if the number of existing posts can be migrated in that sense (it does show you as having all the previous posts so not sure why it does not count them).
-
I have reduced the limits for now.
-
Had a poke around and all seems OK, however, I still haven't posted because I am still waiting for the instruction email to arrive in my inbox.
Over 10 mins now and waiting.
Is there a problem with this part of the system? -
Might be worth checking your spam. I can see the outgoing email was delivered according to mailgun.

Sorry, I wasn't being literal, yes "Forgot Password"

Personally I think its great; just a couple of things I'd suggest:
-
The 'home page' listing the forums is a bit crammed and would benefit from being given a bit more padding between items. The rest of the site is roomy; its just the home page
-
The home page and the categories page appear to be the same - or is there a difference. Its a bit confusing and I'd probably drop the first link in the menu to hid the categories if you intend to keep the categories on the home page.
-
GDPR is looming so I'd make sure you have some definition of your privacy and GDPR policies - don't want to be stung with GDPR fines!
Looking good though!

Nice!
Change is a bit shocking from the old view, but +1 for being able to upvote posts -

Thanks Tony,
Checked spam - not there
It just hasn't arrived Oh Dear -
You can click on all the category headers except for "Using the Duet Wifi and Duet Ethernet". Is that on purpose or a bug?
-
Also can settings be added to change text size? Normal post text isn't bad but quotes are awfully small.

Hi Tony,
I signed as a new username, posts several replies, uploaded a profile picture.
So far, seems to be working good. -
I'm getting used to it. It looks nice, and I'm sure I'll get the navigation figured out soon.
Nice choice, especially as you can carry over the older messages!

I will see if I can override the default text size
