El6 ac servo ena activation
-
Hi all,
Im trying el6 servo on my printer but I have a problem , I have duet 3 6hc + 1xd ( 6xd on the futur when all work)
But I have a probleme with ena signal I active servo on with di1 and put wire ena + on com + and ena- on ena
I have 5v on send by the 1xd but the driver dont active moto I have to active it with Motion studio manually
Anyone have already solve this problem ?
Thx

@Amagatth It is not clear from your post what connections you are making. Also, not clear what servo you are connecting to; a leadshine EL6-series? Which drive?
Whatever it is, do you have a wiring manual for it? Link? You will need to provide more details on the servo inputs and how you are connecting them to your 1XD.
Also, I would say there's a decent chance that the enable signal is 24v or maybe 12v, not 5v. But don't go zapping IOs with 24v until you confirm in your manual.

@Maestro I have and 1 Xd connect to a 6hc. i connect ena signal from 1Xd to DI1 (com + / di1 )of an el6 750 step/dir version
On my other driver (t3d) 5V work on ena.
On this post https://forum.duet3d.com/topic/34181/wiring-ac-servo-drive-to-1xd ( t6 its the same driver than el6 but sell with stepper only brand ) the autor say it work

@Amagatth According to the T6 manual linked to in that other thread, the enable signal for that driver is intended to be driven at 12-24v.
As far as troubleshooting goes, that is the obvious starting point. The fact that someone else says they ran it at 5v enable doesn't change that, and doesn't mean it's reliable. You might still have something else wrong too, but at the very least you're supplying it only 42% of its rated minimum, so that's one possible hurdle to check off the list before banging your head against a wall.
In terms of wiring, you are not using the terminology of the manual. If you think it could be a wiring problem, I'd suggest referring very explicitly to how you are interfacing the 1XD to the pins AS LABELED in the manual (pages 16, 17), so that everyone is on the same page. According to the manual, I would say you should be connecting to CN2-Pin1 (12-24v) and CN2-Pin2 (ground) to enable. Though, this is configurable; your servo-on command could potentially be mapped to a different input.

@Maestro i open the post because phaedrux tell me to do it when i ask on the post. can map other pin for ena + on duet ? so if can't i just try a 24 V ith relay on ena but i first ask here to know if other pp try i and success activate with 5 v original of ena 1 xd on differential mod

@Amagatth Yes, you can certainly move to a 12/24volt with a relay/mosfet. I would suggest making things very simple for yourself first and just jumping the drive's enable pins from 12/24v to ground (NOT going through the enable pin on 1XD) and see if that activates the drive as expected. If it does, then you know what you have to do to finish the setup. If it doesn't, you have a bigger problem.
Generally, if you already know from the jump that you are going against a manual specification, that would be a good place to start a troubleshooting request! Rather than someone else considering possibilities, going and looking it up, and then you basically saying "Yeah, I know".

@Maestro GUy , i just ask first to an utilisator who use the same driver.
A moderator tell me to open a post and ask, i ask .... i dont say i know , just ask to have a reply of the creator of other post.

@Amagatth Ok, good luck. Sorry I interfered.

@Amagatth Is this the user manual you are using for the Leadshine EL6 AC Servo? https://www.leadshine.com/upfiles/downloads/290082cf5d488f3e9790f8e500c838a4_1652861187309.pdf
Please could you post a picture of your wiring between 1XD and the servo driver.
I think the following:

For step pulse and direction signals, you need to wire them in differential mode. See the 'Differential Connection' tab here: https://docs.duet3d.com/Duet3D_hardware/Duet_3_family/Duet_3_Expansion_1XD#external-stepper-connection

The enable signal is confusing, and I don't know exactly what needs to happen. The manual states that all the inputs on the CN2 connector need to be 12v-24V. In the other thread, where @p_vnct says he wired the 5V enable to SI/DI 3, the manual says this input is a:
Two-way digital input with common terminal, function can be configured.12VDC ~ 24VDC
So I don't quite understand how this works. It may be you need to configure this pin as servo enable before it works. Maybe if @p_vnct sees this they can provide input. Otherwise I would contact Leadshine support for guidance. It's also possible that the servo is enabled at power on, and it's just that the step/direction wiring is incorrect, or the steps per revolution of the servo are incorrect. See the other thread for an example of the config.

@droftarts Thx for reply ! actually i active manualy ( with motion studio on PC ) and the motor move but on my printer i dont have a Pc to activate manually ENA haha
i go try with a relay on 24 v to try if its a wiring problem or just a setting
