    Question about tool Z offset

      Hi,

      I finally have the tools (well 2 anyway) mounted and wired on my E3D MS/TC setup.

      I'm getting the tool offsets configured.

      So consider this scenario:

      • after homing no tool is mounted
      • the Dashboard displays the Z position as 10 which is where the Z homing code "parks" it
      • issue T0 and a tool is mounted which has a Z offset of +20
      • the Dashboard now displays the Z position as -10 which is correct based on the tool Z offset

      Clearly the Z position needs to be changed before the tool can be moved into position for printing.

      I was kind of expecting the firmware would keep Z at 10 by moving it based on the tool Z offset, mostly because the firmware already does some "automatic" control of the tool heater(s).

      It seems I was wrong in my expectations, so it's up to my code to take care of that OR is something configured wrong?
