Controlling fans on a Creality board with external 12v psu
-
Hello. My problem is that I have a 3d printer that works on 24v and I would like to replace the fans with 12v. I have a larger capacity 12v power supply that i would like to install. My only problem is that the 3d printer cannot control these fans separately. I saw a video of how the negative cables are connected to the 12volt,24 volt power supply. The fans are connected to the positive cable of the 12v power supply and the other motors that require 24 volts are connected to the 24v power supply. I don't know what to do, what would be the best solution in this case?

@Phaedrux Hi yes i saw this option, but in this case i need more of this lm2596 modules and i already have a 12v power suply and i was wnderin if it is possible somehhow to still cotrol those fnas

It would be no different what the 12v source is, either the PSU or a buck converter, as long as the negative side is connected to one of the controllable fan ports on the board the Duet will be able to switch it and use PWM for speed control.

@Phaedrux THe 3 d printer has no pwm control, it just controls the voltage of the fan. I have 2 cables only. Adn i cant fintde the fan contol chip or what is that.

What Duet control board do you have?
-
@Phaedrux creality v 4.2.2

Ah, well, this is a Duet control board specific forum. I'm not sure how you would handle that with a creality board. I'll move your post into the general 3D print area, perhaps someone will have some ideas for you.

@Phaedrux OK thanks for all
