SOLVED - Heater Temp not increasing after initial test.

SOLVED! - either blew the heater itself or it was bad.
(update at bottom) So I Installed a new hotend. A Phaetus Rapido on my ender 5 plus with a duet 2 wifi. I was told that by others that upgraded to one that they just plugged it in and it played very well after PID tuning. Well i tuned it on to 200c initially just to make sure it worked... and it did. I believe it overshot it and faulted out was the error i saw. So I went to run an autotune after i restarted and the heater wont increase temp. Did I blow a fuse on the board? How can i tell?
My other concern (and i may be just being paranoid about having messed something up) is would there be anything wrong with copying and pasting a macro for another printers PID autotune macro that i liked? could that have altered and saved some sort of config-bak heater settings that arent playing nice after running the autotune and the temp not increasing?
can i just delete everything in the config-bak file and see if it allows the heater to increase again?or is it likely a fuse?

So Im getting super frustrated with this issue. Im pretty good with the duet ecosystem and have been able to iron out any issues ive had over the past few years without having to reach out to the forum... I search for previous issues and have always found my solution without needing to post... but im super stumped on this one....
- I dont see how it could be a wiring issue if i only changed the connector out and put the new hotend on. So i immediately figured it was a fuse or a configuration issue.
- Im leaning towards config issue over fuse because in my config.g if i go to the m307 difinitions and swap T0 and T1 (bed and nozzle) and activate the bed (now nozzle defined as bed just to test functionality at all) the nozzle temp starts climbing at the same rate as the bed would until of course the board dead times out and states that the bed temp (still measuring from the bed sensor) isnt rising... so the hotend thermistor is reading properly and the heater does in fact work... something just isnt telling it to heat.
- I have updated all firmware and web interface to most recent... i followed the duet documentation to the T and uptaded from 2.x to 3.0 via reprap configurator before updating to latest 3.3 version. (and this is where i seem to be having some issue i cant identify)
- as it states in the beginning of the post. I was able to get the heater to overheat and fault out for my initial functionality test... (which is where my fear of blown fuse first came from) but after clearing fault and initiating an autotune is where i started to have my issue..
- config-override saved m307 pid calibration seems to state that my pid tuning for H1 (nozzle) was performed at V0... while bed states V24.1 I have tried altering the value to read v24.1 and no change... and now i just booted up this morning and there is no nozzle heater listed on my paneldue, only reading the thermistor value.
Ive tried commenting out m501 for bootup to see if i can just start fresh and not load m500 values and still no joy
Ive found my old .json file and copied it as much as possible for the new firmware versions so it (as much as possible) matches my old config before firmware migration to 3.0
There just has to be something odd going on with the reprap configuration helper... There just seems to be something not being written properly and somehow not creating the nozzle heater tool. Like.. im almost to the point of wondering if naming the tool "nozzle" somehow created some redundant naming definition that confused the configurator... I have no idea... but i really need to get this going again. Please help. -
@anvil the fuse for the heaters (on a 1.04 at least) is the same fuse for the motors so if that's gone you're stepper motors won't be able to move.
Have you cleared the fault message before trying to heat?
The typical failure method for a mosfet is to fail closed, which would result in the heater being always on.
You can also check whether the LED near the hotend comes on when you command it.In terms of PID tuning, nothing wrong with using a macro from elsewhere, but the preferred method of tuning a hotend is to use the tool number rather than the heater number e.g.
M303 T1 S200
as that will command the part cooling fans to be on during the second half of the tuning. -

@anvil What command did you put in the console to PID the hotend? The one Jay gave was an example, you don't have a T1 so that wouldn't work.

i used T0 for the command after firmware update and it says "no heater tuned"

When you send M303 do you see any rise out of the temperature at all? -

but currently im dealing with a random "incompatible firmware version" that randomly popped up after working fine for a bed tune and trying to tune the nozzle...

ok got everything connected again and the right firmware all going...but yes the heater rises verrrrryyyyyy slooooowly...
idle at same temp as be so i know the thermistors are correct... but ya it goes from 26.8 to like 27.4 before it says its not increasing fast enough -
@anvil sounds like you have a wiring issue. I'd start by using a multimeter to check the heater of the rapido

does the rapido need to be double fed or something? specs say its a 115w heater... not sure why its not heating. its all wired correctly. I cant find any documentation on a wiring diagram for it.

@anvil no, it doesn't need to be double fed. Are you using the right voltage version for your system?
Have you checked it with a multimeter?
