Bad wifi connection duet2wifi

It has the same ssid and password as all the other ap's in house. I hope the duet picks the best one. Would it maybe work if i use a different name on this ap, specifically used for the duet? I think the duet is than still accessible via the whole home network. -
@bierent yes, that may be a good idea. It may be having issues with which to use

Also things like sending commands have a delay and the icons not always load well.
Have you tried replacing the SD card? You can copy the contents of the current card straight across to the new card.

Changing the SD card did nothing. Changing wifi ssid did make the duet connect faster to the wifi (looking at the blue LED). But the webcontrol still gets interrupted and is slow. The dbm is also still 64 while the extender almost is next to the duet. My phone gets like 35dbm on the same spot. -
@bierent looks like that aluminium plate is really screwing with the signal.
if you have the tools you could swap the ESP for an ESP07 to give you an external antenna -
@jay_s_uk
That's the thing right now, the wifi repeater stands almost next to the duet. Now there is no aluminum between them.I dont have a hot air solder station or ever worked with it but if that is the only solution I will need to do it. Is it also possible to solder an ethernet module or something to it? A normal solder is something I do have.
Don't mind the wires, it is still a work in progress.

@bierent you can also be too close sometimes which could cause issues. Make sure your repeater also isn't broadcasting on 5GHz
You can remove the wifi module altogether and install a duet ethernet module but again this really requires a hot air station.
If you're in the UK, I can do either -
@jay_s_uk
It only sends out 2.4ghz. A little distance makes no difference. Sadly I live in the Netherlands so if I send it I'm afraid it could be gone weeks with the transportation.Just a simple hot air station which are used for smd works okay? Than I will learn how to do it. And would you recommend an ESP07 to replace it? I can't find the ethernet modules at the official duet sellers in my country so if the 07 is a better module I am willing to try that one. Furthermore are all the connections just the same? I can just replace it without rewiring some stuff?
-
@bierent yep. its a straight swap. they're what i fit whenever i'm repairing a wifi board that needs a new module.
I also use a heated plate but you may be able to get away with just a hotair station for SMD's -
@jay_s_uk
Okay than I will look for the materials coming week and hope it works .
Thank you for your help!
