WARRENTY EXCHANGE - Wifi 2
-
I contacted matterhackers about a possible warrenty for my Duet Wifi 2 board and they said I had to post on the forum to get it approved. I had it setup for a FLSUN QQS Pro delta printer, and when I clicked the end probe (the stock on from FLSUN) it blew the mainboard and fried the wifi module. I have attached the config file as well as my purchase order for the board. I appreciate your time and help! config.json

What type of probe is it and how was it wired? It would appear that high voltage has gotten onto the 5v/3v side.
Can you get a closer look at the ship bellow the CPU and to the right? It looks like it has a hole as well.

@phaedrux It was just the stock z probe, and I know basic wire color meanings and had checked the diagram of the board while wiring it up

How exactly was it connected?

@slabstations not sure the zprobe.mod pin can be used as an input pin. This might be why it died...
-
Checking whether that would have caused the damage. 3.3v to zprobe.mod probably (?) shouldn't cause the visible damage that looks more like VIN got shorted to 3.3v, but I'm not really sure. Seeking clarification.

@phaedrux I went to engage the probe manually with my finger to test whether it was triggering or not and it made a big pop and the board would no longer connect to wifi. The wifi module led does nothing now and it wont even connect via terminal.
-
@slabstations That sure sounds like user-induced damage…

Unfortunately, I think the best we can do here is to offer a refurbished replacement at reduced cost on exchange. Please contact roland@duet3d.com to enquire about availability and include a link to this thread.
