activate a fan only when drivers are active?
-
Is there a way I can activate a cooling fan only when the motor drivers are active, then disable the fan again when drivers are inactive?
-
Do you mean a electronics case cooling fan? If it's for a printer with heaters, you could just tie the fan to the heaters being active which is usually when the drivers are active as well.
Can you tell us more about your application?

@phaedrux that’s exactly what I’m thinking. You’re right about just tying it to the heaters though. I’m not doing anything major with those steppers with the heat off. Good idea.

@mentaluproar Then you can easily activate thermostatic control in config.g (M106, H Parameter)...

You can add command to start FAN in files homeall.g, homex.g, homey.g and homez.g
Printer will be silent before running G28 command.
