Temperature wrong after fitting PT1000
-
Hi,
Is a PT1000 OK on a V1.0 toolboard?
The last print I did on my CoreXY toolchanger machine looked as if the temperature may be a bit off, as the print started to split between layers in one place whilst removing support, despite it being set at 240'C (for CF filled PETG); I've previously tried 230' and it was unusable.
I'd already bought a couple of E3D PT1000 probes & fitted one to the newly built kossel, which works well connected directly to the 6HC board.
I swapped the probe on tool zero on this machine (which uses V1.0 toolboards) - and it's now reading well below ambient temperature with basically the same config line, other than input, that works correctly in the other machine.
Is there something odd with the toolboards than mean they need a different config for the PT1000??
The setup line is now:
M308 S1 P"20.temp0" Y"PT1000" A"T0"
The grab below is what it's showing with everything at room temperature, around 19 - 20'C
Nothing else has been changed, other than that one config line and swapping from a normal thermistor, which gave a similar ambient reading to the other tools, to the PT1000.
Any ideas?

@rjenkinsgb, have you tried install a PT1000 that works well on the kossel on the tool board? Just in case the one you use is deflective.
Also, you can plug here the resistance you get from the PT1000 at room temperature and see what temp reading it should give https://electronixforu.com/calculators_rtd

Hi,
which firmware are you running? Something is off with Beta 3.4.7, causing lower temperature readings, at least at room temperature. I have not tested the effect at high temperatures.
Maybe check here:

Thanks, that looks to be the same thing - which of course never appeared over multiple searches when trying to find any related problems!Continued in that thread.

That is the working code on my toolboard 1.2M308 S1 P"121.temp0" Y"pt1000" R2200
Can not identify anything unusual. My sensor is from TL

@diy-o-sphere
Thanks, I had already tried the R2200 parameter, but that had no effect - I believe it is the default value. -
@rjenkinsgb
Yes, is not essential. i didn't realize that you were going on in the other thread and that it is more related to the FW.
With RRF3 I have gotten into the habit of not doing beta FW updates......unless they are absolutely necessary.
