Backlash Compensation Revisited
-
The last time this topic was discussed, it was pointed out that backlash compensation was never in Marlin ... but it has been added for a while now https://marlinfw.org/docs/gcode/M425.html
It supports Cartesian and Core kinematics and has seen some continuous improvements over the last two years.
It's not listed on G-Codes not implemented, so maybe there is some hope for it to be added (in 3.5 or later, I guess)?

@oliof FWIW Stratasys has (had?) backlash compensation for at least the Y-axis on some printers.

A (fairly) old printer model, but the built in calibration procedures are worth the read IMO.

@oliof
supported, since it would make gears mesh of my 'Hitchhiker' U-axis easier to adjust.
Too tight and it suffers top speed or even skips steps, too sloppy and it's less accurate.Also other drives with gear(box) would love this feature
