Scary moment with two-pin jumper
-
Mentioning this for other users:
During setup and configuration of a board, a 2-pin jumper was plugged in briefly, then removed. Later, I realized that it needed to be permanently installed and went to reinsert it, but noticed that the 2-pin jumper was now an empty plastic shell, and that the metal pin assembly had pulled out and was laying loose on the powered-up electronics, yikes!Fortunately nothing was damaged, but it was pure random chance where it landed. So summed up: Be careful when using 2-pin headers, because the internal pins are not always captive. I've had that happen before, but usually they stay put on the male board pins, but not this time!
