BTT filament sensor wiring
-
Hi I just got BTT filament sensor. I did read a few treads, but there is no clear post about wiring, could you be so kind to share your wiring diagram
-
What are the terminals on the BTT sensor labeled as? Should be able to sus out which goes where.
-
@phaedrux labeled 1,2,3,4, form reading 1 and 4 are ground and vcc and 2 or 3 are used for estop pin.
-
If you can do some digging and identify which pins are which it will make connecting to the Duet pretty straight forward. ground would go to ground, 5v to 5v, and signal to an input pin. Even finding some diagrams from other installations on other mainboards should give an idea of which wire goes to which pin.
Doing a quick google I found a few images and videos but I'm not even sure if it's the sensor you have. So I'll leave it to you to identify the pinout for the sensor you have in hand. Once you know which is which getting it connected will be easy.

@phaedrux So it works.
My sensor is the last version.
On the cable included in the box 4 pin to sensor and 3 pin conector for the board I just switched the GND and VIN wires on the DUET side and it works
config.gM591 D0 P7 C"e1stop" L7 R50:200 E15 S1 ;configure BTT smart filament sensor
it works preaty consitent
Shows 100 to 110 % , I think I should put may be 80 to 120 % in config.g -
Can you show a photo of the wiring at both ends so future users can see which goes where?
-
@phaedrux it is printing 22 hour print now. I will do this after
-
@phaedrux Here is mine in io.4 of a mini5+
Black supplied wires reading "up" v3.3, signal, gnd.
On the sensor side I left it the way it comes from BTT. Which looking at it from the label side is a 4 pin plug only populated in 3 |V _ S G|
Where v is ~3.3-5vin config.g
M591 D0 P7 C"io4.in" L7 R50:200 E15 S1"M591 D0
Pulse-type filament monitor on pin io4.in, enabled, sensitivity 7.000mm/pulse, allowed movement 50% to 200%, check every 15.0mm, no data received"I need to tweek the setting but its working fine.
