Connecting Duet 2 to Computer to Wifi
-
Have connected my duet 2 to my computer via ethernet however I cannot get it to communicate once usb has been removed even when power supply is on. I get the duet test console on the browser but every time I got to update it with Ooznest firmware it brings up the loading screen and nothing happens (I've waited 45mins and the loading bars still there) I tried this without the usb and powering it with the power supply but it just looses connection to the console. The firmware on the duet reads as follows in Yat.
Duet 2 WiFi/ethernet firmware_version:2: 2.03 ELECTRONICS : Duet Ethernet 1.02 or later firmware_Date: 2019-06-1362
The firmware I'm uploading is Workbee-Firmware-V1.0.7.3- Full.
Have I missed a step some where should I update the firmware on the duet. I'm a bit lost at the moment and I'm reading the guides and getting no where.

when powered from USB, there should be 3 or 4 leds on the board lit.
when USB is removed and only Vin is used, are those LEDs still it? -
@jay_s_uk if memory serves when I had the usb in it was 3/4 lights when I removed the usb and trief using the power supply I believe these light were on and a blue one. I'm not currently by the machine but that's what I remember.

also check you have M552 S1 in your config.g

@jay_s_uk I take you mean the config.g file on the web controller? I'll take a look at it this afternoon when I get back to it ,Thanks for the help.

@Wiltonio check which lights are illuminated on VIN power; see https://duet3d.dozuki.com/Wiki/Hardware_Overview#Section_LED_indications
It could be one of either the 3.3V or 5V regulator has failed.Ian

@jay_s_uk have looked the config.g file does seem to have M552 S1 there. I've also been getting this Yat error message every time I open the terminal since I tried to do the update. Don't know whether it means anything, here it is as followed:
RepRapfirmware for Duet 2 WiFi/Ethernet Version 2.03 2019-06-13b2<LF><LF>Executing config.g...Error: Bad Command: FOR TESTING ONLY! USE https://configuration files for your printer! <LF> Warning : Heater 0 appears to be over powered. If left on at full power, its temperature is pr
It ends there just to be as transparent as possible it is connected to my CNC. Also the LEDs on the board lighting up with the usb are as follows: light next to usb, 5volt, 3.3volt, Y-stop, Z-Stop and the ethernet connection lights. Same is true for the mains power with the exceptions of vin light on, usb light off and ethernet connection light on but flashing red instead of green. -
@Wiltonio sounds like you aren't running a proper config.
I suggest you revisit the config you have and replace it with the appropriate one from the firmware pack from ooznest
