manufacture workspace
the whole "manufacture workspace" is gone
was there just 2 days ago
I think I seen somewhere some notification that some trial was over but.. anyhow I was not too impressed with it so far IM is no1 for me.. but will be checking the f360 if I manage to get it back

Anybody knows what happened to the E3D slicer?

Nearly 30 releases later…
…we’ve targeted the bugs and issues you raised and the user experience has come a very long way from where it was. It's not bad, even know how to send gcode directly to duet board

There is no reason it would be gone. It's still included in the free license. Can you... like... look again? Or restart Fusion 360 or something? I guess if you're not worried about it, don't worry about it... but it's definitely still there and included free.

It hasn't had an update or even dev activity in a year now. It's either dead or deep stealth.
I use PrusaSlicer when I just need a quick mechanical part done.
I use the master branch of Cura when I need more detailed control.

...bye fusion!
(oddly enough https://knowledge.autodesk.com/support/fusion-360/learn-explore/caas/sfdcarticles/sfdcarticles/Fusion-360-Free-License-Changes.html still list manufacturing for Personal license, but after they introduced that page back in 2019 I've been waiting for other features to be silently dropped from the personal license, time to find and learn an alternative)

that "30 releases later" was quote from the website
I tested it few months ago and it was "lot improved" to what I tested last time (~year+ ago)

I "readded it" back trough extensions by "purchasing it" with credits (not money)
but this does not look like an "included free" option ... I do have "unlimited" balance as I have "education" account but I don't feel very comfortable with it after this incident ... I think I'll keep investing in free slicers

its not the first free feature being removed, when they created the teams feature we lost cloud translation (for importing solidworks etc) with no option to do it locally.

I oscillate between superslicer (PrusaSlicer fork with a bunch of interesting added features) and KISS (premium license). I'd stick with KISS if it had better positioning tools, support controls, and vase mode. I'd stick with superslicer if volumetric auto speed worked with gap fill, and if the default supports would be easier to deal with on single material machines. Currently, it seems I flip-flop between both whenever the issues named annoy me enough for a switch.

Some years ago I decided never to use stolen software any more and the last two (altium designer and solid works) were removed from my computer(s) in 2016. I moved to onShape as it was free (but all your designs are public - that was ok for me) but then they fiddled with licencing and terms and conditions and I moved to fusion360 (I like onShape much more). Looks like fusion is not a solution neither ... so attm openSCAD and FreeCAD look more and more like a solution

That is not the manufacture workspace, that is the manufacture EXTENSION.
The workspaces are on the left of your screen, where it says "Design" or "Generative Design" or "Render" or "Manufacture."
They didn't remove any free features! Please stop spreading misinformation and please try a bit harder to investigate.

They didn't remove any free features!
On-Machine Verification
5-axis Machining
Toolpath Modifications
4-axis Rotary(of which I only used 4th axis so the others may have been added after it was no longer free, but, yes, free features have been removed)
-
Those were added to the manufacture EXTENSION, which was always a paid upgrade but offered for free for a month during the pandemic. They never existed as free base features in Fusion.
I believe there is still some limited 4 axis capability in the manufacture workspace. Nothing that was free before was removed.

This topic is highly discretely disguised Illuminati s*&t we're dealing with here. People, do you not see how so many posts incline to the side of going-to-monthly-forfeit-part-of-my-revenues-for-software ?

Been so long since the 4th axis was functional that I haven't tested it; but it was definitively a change at some point eaons ago.
Cloud translation and shared projects (with write access) as well. Their reasoning for removing some formats were to protect against missuse - and they put both sketchup and solidworks on the no list - doesn't quite add up, but meh. Revison control and branching they removed for everyone but I get this nagging feeling I'm forgetting something else.
Not to mention their user surveys which basically said "how much would you be willing to pay", the writing is on the wall.
-
True, there were some features that were removed in October 2019 when they announced the changes to the free licenses.
What I meant, was that nothing from the manufacture workspace was removed after the trial of the manufacturing extension.

Who forfeited part of their revenues so that you, yourself, could have revenues?
I don't think anything Autodesk has done with Fusion 360 has been underhanded. They've been clearly trying to make back some of their investment lately, but that shouldn't be a surprise to anyone. They've invested a lot into the software.
If you don't like the free license they offer, the paid license is pretty affordable compared to alternatives. Otherwise, FreeCAD and the like are available for you to try. Though, I don't think they're as actively developed as Fusion, so you may come crawling back to the free version of Fusion...

The workspaces are on the left of your screen, where it says "Design" or "Generative Design" or "Render" or "Manufacture."yup and before I added this extension when I open the drowdown the "manufacture" option did not exist (and was there few days ago)!!!
also, few days ago there was "more stuff" there, and now is gone. I don't remember what's gone as I was using design/simulation/manufacture only
I see "simulation" is still there as that's something I find super useful...
The might be some difference between licencing. When I was trying to get "Free Fusion360" it was not availble, I got some trial that stopped working and that was asking for money (that was more then year ago) so I went for "Education" licence that I got approved and I see I have "unlimited credits" and all these extensions are paid with those credits.. but not everyone can have education version approved. Dunno about the "free" licence as I hear many ppl got the "free" licence, maybe it's not available for all regions?! Maybe it is different now.. but the "free for personal use" was just a free trial that stopped working... it is possible I fscked something up there as I know number of ppl use it, and it seems to be different if you are on personal-free vs educational licence

I am using Ideamaker and very happy with it, similar to Simplify3D and a bit more.
