Turning endstops off during a print to maximize Z height
-
When my Delta is homed I have a Z height of 402 however during a print it seems like I maxed out at 360ish because one of the arms I believe contacted and endstop during a movement. I understand that delta printers have a cone-like build volume but am I really maxing out at 365 if I can home to 402?
Below are my M665 values
M665 R226.591 L450.550 B185H402.703 X0.102 Y-0.088 Z0 ; -
thats a bad idea. if they hit the endstop that means the limit was reached.
if you were to disable that you could damage your printer. -
Yea fair enough thought I could sneak in another 10mm but I can see it messing up even if I limit it in the slicer.

A delta printer's homed height is always higher than the maximum print height at the edge of the print bed.
This is because to move the effector to the bed edge at least one carriage has to move upwards.

@themelle Thanks for that visual wondering though if there is a better way to determine the max height if I know all the other factors. As in where does the cone begin?
