Can't connect to Duet2Wifi on Mac
-
The instructions say, Run ls /dev/tty.* My Mac comes back with command not found. That's as far as I can get.
-
did you run it in a terminal?
what happens if you just put in ls?
if it cant find ls then you mac path variables might be wrongsee

/dev/tty.Bluetooth-Incoming-Port
no USB -
after you connect the duet run the command dmesg.

i installed a usb driver. Now I'm getting
screen /dev/tty.usbmodem14241
[screen is terminating]The screen pops up then says: Sorry, could not find a PTY then it terminates.

https://duet3d.dozuki.com/Guide/1.)+Getting+Connected+to+your+Duet/7
you are missing the baudrate
If you get an error, Sorry, could not find a PTY. unplug the USB, plug it back in and try again.
-
screen /dev/tty.usbmodem14241 115200
[screen is terminating]Same thing happens with the baud rate.
-
permissions?
-
Ok, Now I'm getting a screen that scrolls the same thing over and over.
WiFi module is idle
WiFi reported error: no known networks found
WiFi module is idleI type in M115 i get:
FIRMWARE_NAME: RepRapFirmware for Duet 2 WiFi/Ethernet FIRMWARE_VERSION: 2.02(RTOS) ELECTRONICS: Duet WiFi 1.02 or later FIRMWARE_DATE: 2018-12-24b1 ok WiFi reported error: no known networks found WiFi module is idle WiFi reported error: no known networks found
It won't stop scrolling and I it will not take any more commands
-
maybe its easier to remove the sd card, and add your wifi stuff to the config.g file and put the card back in the duet?
-
@bearer
Already tried that using Atom. I've tried Chrome and Firefox -
Scrolling sounds like the board is reset for some reason, see if it behaves the same without the sd card when you run it. Could be worth trying to re-flash the firmware after that, but given that it shouldn't be necessary you may want to hold off on that.
-
@bearer
Hmm, got it connected. Haven't got a clue how. But it's connected. -
Change powersupply by chance?
Anyways, all that ends well and all that
-
@bearer
Same power supply. New 24v Meanwell. I just unplugged and replugged everything in about a half dozen times. Have no idea what finally got it working. Oh well. All's well and all that.. -
did you have the psu and usb connected at the same time?
-
@veti
No. Just the board plugged into the USB. -
Could be the USB port and/or cable was unable to supply enough power to let the board start up; if it started working after you had the config on the SD card and with the 24v supply that would make sense. But I'll stop beating a dead horse now
