Suddenly Started printing higher than usual
-
So I didnt change anything. Printed a vase the night before everything printed great. Today went to print a new duct for 5015 fan and when I send the file over from cura the printer starts but .45mm above the 0 point on the Z axis.
The probe trigger point is still correct it triggers at .73mm. I literally have not changed anything. What I had to do to get it to print properly is a G92 command after manually moving the nozzle to the proper height and then send my file over.
Is this something I have overlooked? Did something happen that i dont know about?

Is it consistent every time you home now?
-
Yes it is. If I start a new print I have to pause the print and zero the Z at the correct height then resume printing.
-
What do you get when you measure the trigger height with this?
-
So I get .73 reported in the head position. The very first time I did it it reported back to me in the actual G-Code console. It doesnt do that this go round.
The first time I did this I followed that exact same procedure and that is where the .73 came from. But that exact value gets reported in the head position box for Z if I do it now. Just wanted to reiterate that.
-
So the Z position box will show whatever the G31 z offset is set to when you do a G30 because that's the height you've told it is is when the probe triggers.
And if G30 S-1 still gives you the same value it should be correct.
Can you post your homing file?
-
I dont get why all of the sudden it started doing this if nothing got changed.
And today my bed is showing 84°c when its cool to the touch....

That's concerning. Is the wiring and thermistor intact?
M98 Pdeployprobe.g ; deploy mechanical Z probe
M98 Pretractprobe.g ; retract mechanical Z probeYou should probably remove this from homeall.
I can't see anything else in your homing files that's amiss.

@phaedrux
I reloaded the firmware and the temp is showing correct again.I dont understand how anything has changed. But I added .4 to my trigger height and it now is at the correct height.
Hey while I am here let me ask you. Dual 5015 blowers or just one?
-
Was there possibly a head collision at some point? All it takes is a small shift. Since nothing software wise had changed, some mechanical explanation would seem likely. Wear, damage, binding, loosening parts, etc. Give everything a really good inspection.

That depends how much cooling you need and what shroud you're using. I use a single 5015 with a Dii cooler shroud. Depends on the 5015 as well. How powerful are they?
-
Ahead of ya there. After getting home today I double checked everything. Made sure everything was still tight and square. I couldn't find any issues. But oh well its fixed now.
I am using the Petsfang 5015 mount for the hot end cooling with a noctua fan. The blowers other than being brushless and 24v I have not clue about. I ordered them off amazon and they sent me two. I am currently printing the duct to accommodate one of them. I just didnt know of 2 were ever going to be needed.
I dont know how much cooling I am going to need. Not sure how to even start answering that question.

Start printing. You'll know. One will likely be enough. I'm going to guess that the blowers from amazon are probably a little loud and pretty powerful. And they probably sent two because there's a good chance one will be DOA. So at least you have a spare.
