Checksum Errors Duetwifi
-
I receive a lot checksum errors in the console during printing. About every 20sec.
The printing seems not to be affected.
Firmware 1.21 (Hypercube EVO)Any Idea?

Update:
It seems the errors are only visible on the i7 display.
In the webbrowser I can‘t find the errors. -
@alpenprinter the checksum errors will be reported if your slicers is adding checksums to each line (and the checksums are not computed the way the duet expects them) see:
https://duet3d.dozuki.com/Wiki/Gcode#Section_Checking
Also if they are only showing up on the i7 are they after you issue a command with the i7? if so see:
https://duet3d.dozuki.com/Wiki/Gcode#Section_M575_Set_serial_comms_parameters
and make sure that M575 is not setup to add checksums to that channel. If it is (and you are getting errors) that imp[lies there is a noisey comms issues= between the PanelDue and the Duet.

The checksum Errors only appear in the i7 diplay.
They occur even when no g-code is processed.I am quite shure, it is a serial communication problem form i7 to the mainboard. Baud rate is 57600.
I can't control the 3D printer with the i7 display reliably, because it is often not responsive. Like this it is not usable at all.
The 4 pole cable runs seperately from the stepper cables. M575 is not set up. -
@alpenprinter how long is the cable? Can you try a replacement, shorter cable temporarily?
-
It is the delivered cable. I don‘t want to shorten it.
-
@alpenprinter fair enough when did this problem start?
-
You are right. It is the cable!
I rolled up the cable and the checksum errors disappeared.
I will make a shielded, shorter cable. That should fix the problem.
Duet3D should deliver a shielded cable with the duetwifi.

@alpenprinter Excellent. The standard cable does not give an issue for nearly everyone so maybe you are operating in a particularly electrically noisy environment? if not then maybe there is an issue with the particular cable (bad contacts/wire/plug). let me know if you would like us to send you a replacement cable to test.
