connecting to Repetier Host

Anyone successfully connnected Repetier Host to Duet Ethernet? If so could you help me do the same? I believe there is 2 ways I could do it and either is fine. At the moment I am controlling the Duet which is hardwired to my router (dah) using my laptop on wifi then uploading a file. I could continue using this path for communication or, I have a crossover Ethernet cable, in which case I can connect directly to the board from the laptop. How do I configure this? I tried researching but everywhere I looked was a deep rabbit hole. I would greatly appreciate if someone could get me started at least. Thanks
