Need 6 thermistors to control 6 bed heaters on a 6HC mainboard
-
Hello,
I am building a large printer that will use 6 ac heaters on SSRs and realized there are only 4 Thermistor spots.
Would I need to use the Temp daughter board and PT100s for the last 2?
I'm using Ou0-3 and Ou7-8 for the bed heaters. Using two toolboards for the hot ends and two duet3 1XDs for the Clear path servos.
To my understanding, the temp pins on the 1XDs can't be used to control a heater output? -
@Redheadrambo the temp inputs have to be in the same board as the heater.
So you could use an output on the 1XD and a temp inputs. However what I'm not sure is whether heaters on multiple CAN boards can be grouped together to make one big heater -
@Redheadrambo You could add a temperature daughterboard, which would give two additional temperature inputs (or four if you added two temperature daughterboards), see https://docs.duet3d.com/Duet3D_hardware/Accessories/PT100_Temperature_Daughterboard or https://docs.duet3d.com/Duet3D_hardware/Accessories/Thermocouple_Daughterboard
However, these are only available with connections for thermocouples or PT100 sensors, not thermistors or PT1000.Ian
