Mini Kossel Duet 0.8.5 - Hot end replacement 12V or 24V?
-
Hi,
<Blast_from_the_past>
Back in October of 2015 I bought a Mini Kossel Delta printer kit from Think3DPrint3D (Roland Lock). It is stil working fine, but I recently had a scare as the hot end thermistor's wire fell off. I have managed to cannibalise another 3D printer and it is all up and running again, but I want to make sure I have a spare hot-end.
I don't know what to buy though, It looks like an E3D V6. Is it 12V, is it 24V, how do I figure this out? I cannot find the exact spec sheet, but I know it runs on a Duet 0.8.5 board with a massive DELL power supply that came with the kit.

Thanks,
Jeroen

@JeroenR Wow, that's lovely to see that its still running !
AFAIR the Dell supplies we used are 12V (it should be printed on the supply) so the hot end heater is 12V.

Thanks for responding so quickly.
@T3P3Tony The power supply is indeed 12V. Is it safe to assume the voltage is not 'stepped up' internally?

@JeroenR it definitely won't be stepped up internally
