Duet magnetic filament sensor filament path
-
Hey Guys,
I installed the magnetic filament sensor on my custom core XY printer and it works great. I'm only having one problem when changing the filament it is quite hard to push the filament through the magnetic filament sensor. I have to remove all of the PTFE tubing to get a good grip and push the filament through the sensor. I use the housing from Duet for version V3. The housing was printed on an FDM printer with a layer height of 0.1mm. Any idea how I can make it easier to insert new filament through the sensor?
If there is a need for additional information please let me know!

Can you share some photos of the enclosure assembled and disassembled?

Using an FDM printer, the assembly of idler, bearing and spring may end up to be bit ”sticky”. Sometimes it helps to file corners and edges of the two idler parts so they operate more smoothly.
