No terminal response to M115. Connection closes.

So I've setup a few duet boards in the past but this time Im falling at the first hurdle.
The SD card was formatted and files transferred to it. On first power up, terminal on Mac seems to be able to connect but as soon as you send M115 the serial connection is closed. Thinking this was a Mac issue I tried this on a PC with Putty. Same issue. And then even tried YAT but all serial programs either report a communication error or disconnect. Its as if the response fails.
The firmware.bin file appears to have been renamed on the SD card so assume the firmware was installed.
I just don't know where to go from here. Any ideas would be appreciated.

You can d a full firmware wipe and get the board to appear as a port in BOSSA in order to reflash the firmware (from a fresh download) and try YAT again.
