SBC to standalone toolboard?

Hi,
has anyone considered using DSF to directly control a toolboard for non-printer-projects where you only neeed the subset of IO and controls typically provided by a toolboard? I.e., control a 1HCL with DSF for a single axis machine like a slider or something, but still keep the RRF configuration and controls?

@oliof I am not aware of anyone having done that. I expect it would need a DSF->Emulated mainboard->CAN-FD stack on the Pi and then a CAN-FD connection from the Pi to the toolboard/1HCL.

@oliof a small daughter board for the pi running RRF and a CAN-FD connection comes to mind
