SOLVED - Heater Temp not increasing after initial test.
-
So i just noticed something on my paneldue when it starts up.... doesnt show up in the web console for some reason... but it says T0 hasnt been set up and that the bed seems to be overpowered.
I think my bed and nozzle are competing for the same tool definition in the config.. not sure how to fix it... i swapped the numbers and got the nozzle to start increasing temp normally but only by setting the bed temp and activating... can i fix this in my config or do i need to change something in my .json?
-
@phaedrux i think theres something up with the definition of my heaters... can you look it over and see if its odd with the bed and primary tool being the way they are?

Sorry, this should have been H1. H0 is the bed. H1 is the nozzle heater.
-
@phaedrux yes that’s what my config has
And lol ya I figured out it should have been h1.
But ya… no joy. But when I swapped the T0 and T1 when I activated the bed heater my nozzle started climbing at normal speed… but of course since it was looking for the bed to raise temp is errored out with the temp not increasing message. So I swapped it back and am trying to see what I did wrong in my configuration helper…
Do I need to do it again after upgrading from 2.x firmware to 3.x firmware… then to the latest version? Or did telling the configuration tool that I was coming from 2.x to 3.x automatically update everything needed after then just updating to the latest version?

@phaedrux said in Heater Temperature not increasing after initial test.:
Next try tuning the heater again and take a screen shot of the temp graph and capture the complete error message if you get one.
Can you grab that?
I'm not sure what you mean with the rrf2 vs rrf3 questions.
Has your config changed from the one posted above?
-
No it’s the same. I was following the migrating from 2 to 3 guide and didn’t know if I did something wrong when the reprap configurator asks you what firmware your running… figure it’s the same now since the system files all have the color coded look like the new version I’m running on my modix.
And I’m not sure the temp graph will show much of anything… temp barely climbs 1c before it errors out saying it’s increasing too slow. But I’ll have to get a screenshot tomorrow. Left the shop for the evening.

Does the temp graph show a rise in temp if you just hold the hotend in your hand for a bit?
Does Rapido give you some values to use for this thermistor?
-
yes temp rises with holding it in my hand and matches if i plug in my stock hotend... i spoke with other people who have installed rapido on ender hardware and all have said it was just plug and play. I just swapped out connectors on the wires only thing changed isI wanted to update to the latest firmware... So i used reprap configurator to reconfigure for updating firmware from 2.x to latest via duet documentation guide....
It just feels like i did something wrong in the configurator but im not sure what... like i mentioned when i swapped the tool numbers in the config.g for bed and heater and enabled the bed heater... the nozzle started climbing normally. I just cant figure out how to swap them in system files... It seems like whats going on now is bed and nozzle are both configured to same tool and the bed got the spot and nozzle is in limbo somewhere.

does anything in my congig-override seem odd? should my H1 say V0? considering the bed says 24.1...

can i just delete everything in my config-override?
and also i just changed
M950 H1 C"!e0heat" T1 ; create nozzle heater output on !e0heat and map it to sensor 1
to
M950 H1 C"e0heat" T1 ; create nozzle heater output on e0heat and map it to sensor 1
i forgot i tried to invert it to see if that worked.
-
Just for giggles and grins I tried to see if maybe they somehow sent me a rapido plus with the pt1000 and temp read 2000c so its not that.
phaetus has the regular thermistor listed as a Semitec 104NT4 thermistor
104NT-4-R025H42Gif that makes any difference?
-
@anvil said in PLEASE HELP- Heater Temp not increasing after initial test.:
a Semitec 104NT4 thermistor
Do they give any values for that thermistor?
Doing some googling it looks like the same as the E3D thermistor and it uses these settings
M308 S1 P"e0temp" Y"thermistor" T100000 B4725 C7.06e-8
-
change in thermistor values made no difference.
I dont understand how changing the hotend thermistor values would change anything if when i swap T0 and T1 in the m307 definition in the config the nozzle then works and increases in temperature until it dead times out from the bed thermistor not reading an increase in temperature.
Does it not seem like a config issue of some sort? I figured that changing those tool numbers sort of indicated that its a config issue... like the reprap configurator has gotten something wrong or I input something wrong in it and then its burried in the .json file somewhere and i just dont know...
Ive reached out to phaetus to ask if there is anything im missing or if there is any values they may know of.
Is the forum the only place to get support for an issue like this? I really need to get this sorted out asap.
-
How do you have it wired? Your config doesn't define a t1 at all so not sure how changing that makes a difference.
Can you show how it's wired?
-
Its sort of a process to remove and open the enclosure....but i have the heater wires coming out of the e0 output connector.... but i think im finding my issue...in the reprap configurator
SO... currently its labeled like this for the I/O mapping/ heaters and tools
but it looks like in the I/O mapping section i should swap nozzle and heater so the nozzle output is on 0 and the bed is on 1
but when i do that and go to the tool define section It wont let me select the H1 option it just keeps it N/A
should i just swap the wires to the e1 heater output maybe and see if that works?
Im not understanding why it wont let me select the nozzle as the 0 heater in the mapping page and also define it as a tool. and i tried changing it to tool 1 but it still doesnt work
