Mismatch between Cura filament estimate and actual filament used

Cura estimates my print will cost 1760g of filament. I have already spent an entire 1kg roll, and according to Duet web control the print is not even halfway done, in terms of filament usage (in mm). What gives? Why is my Cura estimate so far off from what the Duet is actually doing?
