broke micro usb connector
-
Hi! I accidentally ripped my micro usb port. -.-
Are there any other pins to solder the usb wires to? My pads mostly seem to came off with the port. -
@maroonds you could solder some wires to the J22 UART converter
-
@pcr Thanks for your quick reply. Where can I find the J22 UART converter on my duet maestro?
-
@maroonds ahh its a maestro....
-
@pcr but there is the same. Look for the label J22 on the board
-
@maroonds ouch!
You can solder two wires to the connector side of R2 and R3 for DP and DN respectively. R37 on the connector side can accept VBUS (5v) ground can most easily connect to the tab of the SD card socket (see screenshot). you will need to use fairly fine wires and be careful not to disturb the resistors.

J22 is the USB header that is ripped off

@t3p3tony
Like that? Do I actually need to connect ground and 5v? I'm using klipper btw.. -
@maroonds you are less likely to have issues if you have a common 5V. even more so for common ground.
-
@t3p3tony Good to know! Thanks.
Is there any accessible ground and 5v next to the port? I kept the wires short -
@maroonds yes 5V on the connector side of R37, ground on the tab of the SD card socket.
-
@t3p3tony Thanks! I love how active and helpful the duet community is!!
-
@maroonds then why use klipper
-
@pcr I started using klipper back in the day when there was no such thing as input shaping with the adxl available in rrf. I also wanted a wifi connection for my old duet maestro^^
