The new big red addition to my printer...
-
Added this to my printer recently and like it very much. It's good as a general purpose on/off switch as well as emergency stop, and installation is easy, connecting it in serial the the mains cord.
Mrs Zapta has a 'permission' to hit it any time, no questions asked, if anything looks our of the ordinary, preferring to err on the safety side.
-
@zapta ...shame on you! It's not printed.
But it looks a bit like a Frankenstein switch, so -
Snap! Great minds... Lol.
Now I've got multiple power supplies and the new one is running 48v max 10A I thought it was time to get a proper safety switch included.
Do I get extra credit for the printed back box for the BRB?

Well if this is a "share your emergency stop button pics" thread, here is mine from 2017

@deckingman , do you use it also as an on/off switch for normal operation or just for emergencies.
For me that's the normal switch. Not sure if it's more safe because it is tested regularly or less safe because it wears out.

Well when I first fitted it, the idea was that it would just be for emergencies. The main on/off switch is at the back but this one is wired in series. However, now that I've moved the printer into a "booth", the main switch on the back is hard to reach, so I leave it on and this one is now the normal on/off switch. It only gets operated one or twice day at most so I doubt it'll wear out.
