3d Step Files
-
Hello to everyone
I was not able to import these step or stl files to freecad.
There was an error Message on the step files: "<class 'OSError'>: cannot read STEP file"
No error message on the stl files, just no part appearing..
I saw there was a similar problem with fusion 360, but this was not my problem.Does anyone have more success with this? Is there also an assembled model available, with the pcb? Would be helpful to implement the board in my construction.

@metty I opened the .stl files using Simplify3D and printed cases for my magnetic filament monitors.,
Do you intend to modify the geometry, or just slice them to create GCODE?

@alankilian First I want to check how it works.. If possible i would like to integrate the sensor in to my extruder. But it also failed as I tried now to import the stl-files into the slicer... Something is strange here. Downloaded the files with rightclicking on each file, then "save link as". Is there something i missed? I can not reproduce this with any other step or stl-files I have..

@alankilian Oh my goodness
With the zip it works fine. How is this possible
But thanks for help! Still: is there no 3d for the sensor-pcb i guess? Any chance to get it? -
@metty I think maybe send a note to sales@duet3d.com and see if they will sell you the parts kit.

@alankilian said in 3d Step Files:
@metty I bet it's a github thing.
Click on the file to see it.
Then click on the Raw tab
Then Control-a to select all, Control-c to copy and control-v to paste into a notepad-like editor and save that.Otherwise, go HERE and use the "Code" pulldown and download a .zip file and extract it.
It is a github thing.
You can also right click on the RAW button and download it that way.

@alankilian So far it seems, that I have all parts that I need in hardware, except the 3d-printed ones. For the construction it would be nice to have the PCB-Stepflies. So if anyone knows how to get them, would be nice. If not, I will draw myself a replacement.

@metty https://github.com/Duet3D/FilamentMonitors Check here.

@phaedrux Thanks! I did not found any 3d of the pcb, but the kicad-project. So KiCad-StepUp helped me out:
