Duet 3D Wifi error 99
-
I had a couple of power outages the other day. I went to print last night and noticed 2 things,
- I couldn't connect via the web control
- The printer still showed up on my network with the same IP as before.
I wound up doing a direct USB connection and managed to get a print out last night, but I still can't control it via the browser without a direct link. I have no idea how to troubleshoot this.
I've read in another thread that I can update my software to the latest by just loading a .zip file and then the duet would figure out the rest, is this true? Is there a new release? And then if so, how do I load the file via USB?
Board: Duet WiFi 1.02 or later
Firmware: RepRapFirmware for Duet 2 WiFi/Ethernet 2.05 (2019-12-13b1)
Duet WiFi Server Version: 1.22 -

It would be if you could connect to the DWC. Otherwise you'd have to place the firmware files on the SD card manually and send the M997 command to update.

Are you able to ping that IP address?
If you connect via USB terminal and send M552 does it reply with that same IP address?
Can you check your SD card in your PC? Maybe it was damage in the power outage.
Where are you seeing "Wifi error 99" ?

Ping = Yes
M552 = Yes -same
Card seems fine
Cura just listed Error 99With the USB in place, I can see and use the browser interface.

Duet WiFi Server Version: 1.22I think a quick firmware refresh might be in order.
Are you able to reach the DWC at all? If so, please upload this zip file to the system tab.
https://github.com/Duet3D/RepRapFirmware/releases/download/2.05.1/Duet2Firmware-2.05.1.zip
I would also suggest checking for an update to the Cura RRF uploader plugin.
-
@phaedrux I installed the update, but it's still updating. How long should this take? It's been about 30 minutes thus far..
-
@hbrownell It shouldn't take that long. You can power cycle it. The update probably applied ok. Check with M122 again when it comes back up. Just in case you can upload the zip file again.
-
@phaedrux Yah, now I don't even see the printer on the network..
-
When connected to the usb terminal, what does M115 report?
What does M552 report? -
@phaedrux since I can't see it on the web, I don't have any control. I don't know how to access it via the USB..
-
@hbrownell Scratch that. I used YAT and got wifi moduel is bein started ok

M115
FIRMWARE_NAME: RepRapFirmware for Duet 2 WiFi/Ethernet FIRMWARE_VERSION: 2.05.1 ELECTRONICS: Duet WiFi 1.02 or later FIRMWARE_DATE: 2020-02-09b1
ok -
@hbrownell Okay, so I found another thread that had the similar issue. I had to rebuild the network connection. It lives again, and I'm assuming updated to the latest software.
-
@hbrownell thanks for the help!!
-
Glad you got it sorted out. You can check the wifi server version with M122 as well. I think for your firmware version it should be 1.23.
Not sure if any of that had anything to do with the Cura error, but at least now it seems to all be working?
-
@phaedrux It certainly fixed the network issue though the prints are terrible now. Very under extruded and I'm at a loss for why that is.
-
Relative or absolute extrusion?
Have you recalibrated the extruder?
-
@phaedrux
I did check my extrusion calibration and it's spot on. I tried with a couple of prints I found on thingaverse and got some okay prints but near the hole and starting the next layer it was under extruding. On one of my own prints (Which I've done many times before) about 2-3mm up and it just disintegrates (under extrudes). I'm currently working my way through upgrading to 3.2 so I don't know if this conversation would be mute anyway.. I'd say just mark this one as solved since the network was back up and running. -
Thanks. I'll mark as solved then. Please create a new thread if you'd like to work through your extrusion issue.
