Yet another noobie query

Let me start by saying I have successfully assembled several Ikea tables so installing a Mini5+ in my otherwise stock Anycubic Kossel LP shouldn't be hard.
I get a blinking red LED (good) but nothing seems to work. Mini5+ has 4 pin endstop connectors, I used what I thought were signal and ground but DWC doesn't see them. I rewired the connectors for the X, Y and Z motors to match the color code of the Duet but they don't move. I've read thru the guides, watched youtube vids but can't find the specific instructions that say insert the blue rod in socket C7 and tighten with supplied Allen wrench.
