M950 F1 C"fan1" Q65535 ; create fan 1 on pin fan1 and set its frequency
M106 P1 S255 H1 T50 ; set fan 1 value. Thermostatic control is turned onWhy did you use this extreme high PWM Frequency?
Have you tried to use the fan with using the B parameter in your M106 command?this is only for testing.
also with other frequencys. i started wih 500 and now with 100.
with b i will test now. for testing i also use an other fan with little bit better result. but also, after heating the fanspeed goes to 100% -
ok, it is also a fan problem. the board has to go higher with the pwm for the fan but what i set in the config is has not the effect. the 5010 radial fan work like it has to but the 40x10 fan not really. where i have to set the minimum pwm ? i have tried it with L but no effect.
and also, after stop heating the fan runs with 100% but only after stop heating
-
is it not possible that the fan run on 100% after reach the target temperatur ?
-
@joeko Your problem is somehow strange. Your settings are correct so far i can see. The fan should switch on at 50 C° with 100% Speed. Does this happen too when you manually heat the hotend over the web interface?

yes also over the web.
but first it is the fan. the fan has problems with pwm. a 5015 radialfan runs like it has to. because i dont have a second 40x10 24v fan here i use a step down to create 12v and connect the plus to fan plus and negativ to the duet and this works perfect.but of course, why is there a problem with the first 40x10 24v fan ?
on 24v he runs really well. -
@joeko There are fans who cannot cope with the PWM signal
-
How is your wiring routed? It's odd that the fan doesn't work when the heater is heating.
-
it is a little bit cracy.
i have connected a 12v sunon with the step down to the duet. it seems all is good. than i have connected the fan to the hotend (with step down) and i get problems. the power supply hum, the voltage goes down to 23,3v from 24.1v and the fan is off. than hum stops, fan is on and voltage is 24.1v and so on -
Can you show a diagram of how you have things connected? The Duet switches PWM on the negative side, so it can't be shared.

hmm, a photo or a diagram ?
i will do it later today. why drops the power from 24.1v to 23.3v of the meanvell powersupply ? the step down make the meanvel huming for the fan but driving an odroid sbc doesnt make problems ? but the negativ pol off the fan isnt shared -
i have checked the wiring again.
it stays that fan is sensible if the current drops and the curent drops when i heat up the nozzle. when i connect the fan to always on and heat the nozzle is it the same. the fan stop spinning until heating has stoped. in web control it looks like the voltage drop to 23,8v but is this too much ? -
@joeko if a power supply drops the voltage it can (not must) be a sign that your Printer consumes to much power. How much Watt can your power supply deliver? Is your heating bed connected to this power supply if yes how much Watt it needs? What for hotend heater you use (watt)?

the power suppy has 350w. a meanvell. the bed is connected (without ssr) to the power supply this all happen with bed heater off. the hotend is an e3d with 40w and 24v.
but a 350w power supply is not enough for the duet, one fan and the 40w e3d hotend ? that the fan is sensible for current droping is ok but it is normal that the current drops when i heat the nozzle ?
-
@joeko if you only power up the hotend + fan + steppers the power supply should not drop the voltage.
What happens when you heat up the hotend and the heating bed at the same time is the voltage then stable on 23.3 Volts or is the drop bigger ? -

What happens when you heat up the hotend and the heating bed at the same time is the voltage then stable on 23.3 Volts or is the drop bigger ?when i heat up the bed and nozzle at the same time (but than the board heat first the nozzle and than the bed) the voltage drop to 23.8v and not deeper. droping to 23.3v was only yesterday as i connected an 12v hotendfan with an step down modul. than the power supply was huming and the voltage droped to 23.3v. and again now, stop heating the nozzle (with an other 40x10 24v fan) than the fan speed goes higher
-
hello,
strange, i replaced the fan and made an test. than the 1a fuse ploped and was broken. also the nozzle became hotter and hotter. but after restart the printer the fans stil running without the fuse .....is the 1a fuse not for the fans ? also as i connected a 12v fan with an stepdown converter the current of the power supply droped to 22v and the stepdown modul became hot. later i connected an fan to fan2 without config the config settings and from the fan2 connector on the boards i saw short lightning. how is it possible that the fans running (also always on) without the 1a fuse ? -

Or a photo?
What PCB version of Duet do you have? There should be a number silk screened onto the board.
Which fuse blew?
If something is blowing I think you have a short somewhere and should be very careful about blowing the whole board. Take it all apart and slowly put it back together testing as you go.

this is an clone....first time i own an clone and than this....
but i ordered today an genue duet3 mini 5. the 1 ampere fuse blew -

yes i take all apart and conect only heater and fan but the same. new fuse blew again and the fan still runs. and why drop the power supply to 22v with step down modul on fans but not on the sbc ?
-
Yes but which fuse blew? Does your board have 2 fuses? One for vin and one for the fans?
If the fan fuse blew and the fans are still running then it wasn't actually the fan fuse? Or the clone is really really bad.
Either way, a photo would be helpful to see.
