Arc Welder Gcode processor Plugin?
-
I was wondering if it would be possible to add a plugin to webcontrol for Arc Welder, a software that converts straight segments to Arc's
https://github.com/FormerLurker/ArcWelderLibThe Arc Welder Software works via the command line, in Cura Slicer, in Octoprint and has an embeddable library. This magic software converts straight line data from most slicers and converts it into arc data for your 3D Printer. The results are spectacular. Improved 3D printing speeds, smoother prints and the ability to print faster than before. This improvement comes from converting the line segments of your 3D Prints into arcs. Arcs are also more efficient at creating smooth 3D prints because there is less data for your 3D Printer to process. This all comes together like magic to improve your 3D print quality. The plugin is completely free.

Hi, I watched a YT video on this last night. Seems really interest. Have you done any prints and compared results? If it does what it seems then a plugin would be great.

I'm using it for a while and on "proper" boards (like duet, smoothie...) that have no issues with serial buffer change in print does not exist, it works exactly the same, only G-code is much smaller. If you run it on cra%$#^@y boards (like marlin) that do have issue with serial buffer it works much better, no stutter in print, no blobs/zits on curves etc etc..
I do not use it with duet any more as that extra step brings nothing, only with few shi#^$^$#@^ty printers I still did not migrate from marlin

@arhi i use it to get smaller gcode files! Hopefully PrusaSlic3er will integrate G2/G3 soon!

tried it for the first time yesterday on a couple of co2 laser tube mounts. Something that could use the arc welder function since the tube is being supported by a half round support. I found the gcode file actually increased in size as well as not working as advertised. The tube support is still segmented.
